  Beautiful and tranquil surroundings.

  We stayed at the end of October when the Chateau was probably at its quietest. It was a base for us to visit the region, but served perfectly to start the day off and come back to at the end of a busy day. Very well kept building in beautiful grounds. Yves and Annick (owners) provided a very hands on approach, from a warm welcome on arrival to individually served breakfast each morning. They allowed me to practise my French and I have no doubt they would have been able to converse in English had they not been indulging my efforts. Food was excellent - typical French breakfast but with local and home made produce. Dinner was superb although we only dined there once (too busy travelling around) - the best lamb I have ever eaten! Room was extremely well kept with a beautiful view of the grounds. Perfectly positioned for visiting all of Rouen, Beauvais and the beautiful Monet Gardens at Giverny. Isolated in terms of the local area (you are in forest!) so can't really walk anywhere, but perfect for us. Highly recommended.

  A must visit place...

  We all know how hard it is to find a place that exceeds expectations in France, this one does, nothing it to much trouble and the chateux is fabulous... our must stay place on our travels, dont miss...

  Absulutely charming. A great stay

  We first visited Chateau du Landel in 2018, as a convenient place to stay a night on the way back to UK from more southern France. This time we especially selected to stay there because we had enjoyed the first visit so much. We were not disappointed. Once again we were welcomed, given a wonderful room, fed extremely well and left wishing we could have stayed longer. We were only able to stay one night in France, due to commitments in the UK and decided it was well worth the 2.5 hr journey to this Chateau. We were so glad we did.

  Lovely country hotel

  I thoroughly enjoyed a stay at this hotel, tucked away down a country road in an ancient forest, in deep Normandy. There was a warm welcome and delightfully decorated room with a view over the garden filled with songbirds - and surely that was a peacock call I heard. This hotel offered an escape from Paris, reached by train and cycle ride across fields and forests. The delicious dinner and breakfast were served in the garden, meeting social isolation rules in an easing of the lock down. The hotel owners also make their own honey, with the beehives in the next garden.

  Excellent Stay - Will Return

  The hotel had really good vibes. Lovely grounds, swimming pool and tennis court plus indoor facilities like snooker and table tennis. The room we stayed in was a comfort room and even though, as it states comfortable the bathroom and beroom were quite small, but more than okay for a night or two. The owners/staff were friendly, and it felt more like a visit to a friend than a chateau stay. Spotlessly clean in every way. The restaurant is extremely good if not to a Michelin standard, but as good as it gets for a hotel or restaurant. i.e it was better than most of the restaurants we had eaten in on this trip. Lovely dining room too.
