Amazing ExperienceSurprised my family with a stay here in the spring of 2016 after a month in Germany on the way to Paris. Toasted our arrival with an exquisite bottle of their personal collection of red wine. The host and family heir was so gracious. The accommodations were very comfortable and the breakfast amazing. Take the time to embrace it's rich history and stories of Nazi occupation in WWII. The library and pharmacy is worth a long look. My son played on a Chopin piano in the sitting parlor to entertain us. . The relics will leave you speechless. Well worth the journey off the beaten path! Todd Haberland

Happy have our daughter marry the son...We travelled the full length of France and broke it with a stay here. In truth, it looked quirky and externally very impressive - so my wife and daughter would be impressed when we arrived. In the event - we were late (having gotten lost on the way following a dodgy app to find food) and we called to say we would be late. We arrived just shy of midnight - they told us to eat on the way or we would go to bed hungry. They waited up just for us. Exemplary service And of course - we dint get impressed as we arrived by the grand building... But inside - amazement and wonder ensued. We were shown along a long corridor with curios and amazing reception rooms to our suite - 2 rooms and a private bathroom. So huge our small house would have fitted inside them - over 6m ceilings!! Silk wall paper, a huge fire place and comfy beds. The dogs went ape inside - running laps and bouncing off furniture - they never went this mad anywhere else - they loved it! The hall is chevron French Oak parquet. The owner has a dog and cat. Parts look tires - but it is clean. The building must need a shed load of maintenance but it is all to the good. Character to the max. The owner is a Baron and just delightful. His son (my wife tells me is exceptionally handsome and would suit out daughter..!) was a perfect host, spoke English very well and was attentive but not intrusive. The whole experience was more than we could have hoped for. The grounds are large enough to walk the dogs and very pleasant. A pity we could have stayed longer - certainly worth a small detour if you want a friendly intimate environment loaded with charm and character rather than a sterile hotel environment. So impressed - I tried to book for our return journey - but they were full with a wedding party. Which speaks volumes in itself. Honestly - do yourselves a favour and stay here. for a B&B it is unlikely you will regret it - AND it was good value!

The best night of my lifeIt was an amazing experience to be able to sleep in a real castle. All the furniture is over a hundred years old contributing to a beautiful and historic scenery. The room was enormous and extremely comfortable. The owner welcomed us extremely well and was very nice. The breakfast was amazing. After the breakfast we were able to have a small tour through the castle. It was fantastic! I certainly would like to return as soon as possible!

Unique and very special place to stayWe stayed here for one night as a family of 4 and really enjoyed it. Our family suite was enormous, beautiful, and very clean. We enjoyed a nice walk in the forest on the grounds and then went for dinner at a restaurant recommended and booked for us by the owner. The owner was really friendly and helpful. The only reason I am not giving it an excellent rating is because the swimming pool and grounds around the pool are very run down and could do with some serious maintenance. Other than that, what a special place to stay.
