Wonderful Gem of a Gastronomic HotelThe surroundings were amazing, the 400 year old tree that is in the middle of the garden in front of the hotel is worth a visit in itself. It is an old chateau that has been rebuilt, so you have the traditional decor. While the bathroom was dated, the room was large and comfortable. The service we experienced everywhere from everyone was impeccable. We also had a swim in the indoor pool, which was done in a very attractive way. The most impressive part of our stay was the food in the main restaurant. The truffle pannacotta style amuse-bouche with extra truffle on top, the foie gras creme brule, the tarragon icecream with fruit and meringue, it was a real treat. The dessert was fantastic, chocolate fondant on vanilla icecream, beautifully presented and so tasty! The chef from Mauritius even found time to say hello to the guests during the evening. Only thought we had was that the prices for some of the cocktails and after dinner drinks were a bit too high, enough to stop us having some, which was a shame.

Loved Our Stay!We stayed at Chateau for two days (Oct. 17-18, 2019) to celebrate a special occasion. the staff was wonderful, especially David, they made us feel very special. The Chateau grounds are beautiful, the area around the chateau is wonderful too. They gave us a map, highlighted the sites not miss like Vezelay, Chateau de Bazoches, La Crojx Montjoie winery etc. We had dinners at both of the restaurants, both were delicious especially the Michelin Star Restuarant! The Chef came to the table and introduced himself, inquired about our dinner. David did wine pairing for us, they had a candle on my dessert and Champagne!! The chateau has a great swimming pool! It does not have a elevator, but all of our luggage was handle for us. Most of the staff spoke English. Loved our stay!

DrFirstly this really is NOT a 5* hotel by any stretch. Attractive property externally but very very tired dated interiors and the owners seem likewise. Frosty reception by Madame on arrival, not a relaxed place at all. Room adequate but not remotely luxury- vinyl floor, pink tiled dated bathroom, old ( not antique) poor quality furniture, flimsy thin duvet, room filled with cooking smells from kitchen.....etc etc Would suggest you insist on parking your own car. Staff parked ours next to a wall and the following morning our car had a new dent on it. Owner refused to accept any responsibility at all. Literally just shrugged his shoulders and raised his arms. The website is very misleading.

Perfect stopping off point and incredible hotelWe stayed in one of the coach house apartments with a mezzanine room separate from the main hotel. The 2 kids slept upstairs and we had an impressive, large room with a separate lounge /dining area. The Michelin Star restaurant in the original old kitchen of the Château was divine and the kids loved all the amuse bouche and courses as they kept coming out. The breakfast was delicious and the pool is amazing. We didnt see the wild pigs that roam the huge grounds but we were entertained by the flock of geese that live on site and waddle around together when let out at breakfast. Really comfortable, clean and first class service.
