  The food served here is appalling. Felt like I was in a travel lodge in the 80s. Shocking. Understaffed. Carpets are filthy. Good treatments and staff are friendly and doing their best but what a shambles.

  Relaxation

  Excellent Therapists. Beautiful venue Average food and general service. Poor drinks and no snacks facilities. Accounts and website bookings in chaos. Poor communication re Covid restrictions. Have contacted them twice now as to why I have been charged £83 to use the swimming pool for 30 mins, when my package says this was part of the stay. Quick to debit my account and quick to send a feedback survey but do not bother to acknowledge my query . Very disappointing.

  Return 2 night stay

  Lovely to be back in henlow ,a wonderful place to relax and recharge the staff are helpful and friendly bedroom well appointed clean and comfortable food menu is good and well balanced treatments are professional and tailored to your own needs good variety of fitness classes and the grounds are nice to walk around looking forward to my next visit after covid Thanks for a great stay

  Trick to get your money with their Terms & Conditions

  I booked a half price 2 night break and paid with vouchers. I then prebooked 4 treatments and paid with a combination of vouchers and credit card. This break was meant to be April 2020 but obviously had to be postponed. I was impressed with the customer service at the time especially in difficult circumstances. I moved the booking to Sept 2020. I arrived and was told the Thalaso pool was broken but a repair man was on his way. By the third day of my stay the Thalaso pool hadnt been fixed. I was told that the refund would be put back to my credit card. I checked this twice because I booked an extra treatment whilst at Henlow and it could have gone against that, but they insisted that it go back to the credit card. 2 months later the money hadnt arrived and after chasing I was told that despite my original booking being made by vouchers and credit card, when it was moved to the later date, Champneys changed the total amount to 1 voucher. As such I am not entitled to a refund and when asking why, I was told to check the cancellation terms and conditions. I suggested that the money be given in vouchers which I could use at a local Champneys City spa but again was told I wasnt entitled to a refund because my booking was a voucher. So my warning is, be careful what you are being offered by way of a change to your booking and dont trust that your new booking isnt subject to new terms and conditions. For such a small amount of money and that fact that in resort the treatment wasnt available but I wasnt offered to put the money towards another one, Champneys have lost a customer of over 20 years.

  Go to Tring instead!

  I have stayed in Champneys Tring before and thought we would give Henlow a go but do regret it now. Tring had much more to offer facilities wise. It may just be because of current restrictions and having to (understandably) book things, but there didnt seem like there was actually much to do or many places to relax. Only one cold jacuzzi in the swimming area and small single-sex steam room in the changing room. There was not any clear places to sit and relax - lots of lounge areas with armchairs but they seemed more suited to having a cocktail rather than relaxing on a spa break. Sadly some of the food in the restaurant for breakfast and dinner was very bland and seemed to be unnecessarily supplemented. We also stayed in a Luxe room but I dont think it deserves a luxe title at all. It was big but furniture was very tired and I didnt feel like it was very clean. Bathroom was tiny, broken and very basic. The room was a major disappointment of the stay. Staff are very nice and helpful but advise to pick Tring over Henlow!
