  Extremely quiet B&B with friendly hosts

  In July we stayed there for just one night with our Englisch friends. We loved the rooms and had had the Table d'hote dinner of Baeckeoffe. It was great food and a really enjoyable evening. And we had the quietest night evening. It is a bit remote, but a nicely renovated old building with lots of charme. Not too from Straßbourg.

  À ne pas manquer

  This was our third visit to Tirelire, this time for the Christmas markets. Brigitte is the warmest of hostesses, welcoming us like family, sitting and visiting with us. Each time we've stayed, Brigitte has made a point of helping us find not only the usual tourist areas, but also the lesser known quaint villages and "off the beaten path" areas that have been so special. This time it was a Christmas market in a little village not far from Cosswiller. We had been to all the major Christmas markets - Strasbourg, Riquewihr, Obenai, etc. and they were wonderful. But it is this little Christmas market that we tell all our friends about. It was just as Brigitte had promised us - an absolute delight, and we never would have known about it if she hadn't told us. The rooms are wonderful, we love the quiet countryside. Run, don't walk to Tirelire. A wonderful experience is waiting for you there!

  Wonderful

  This is is a guesthouse, or chambre d'hotes as the French call them. The owner, Brigete is very warm person, she naturally knew how to peal through the stranger layer and made you feel at home. I felt comfortable as soon as I stepped in. She speaks fairly good English with a German-French accent, like all Germans they're reluctant to say they can speak English, I think they're worried of misdirecting people and want to be very accurate in their answers. Breakfast was fun, Brigete likes have conversations and entertain her guest and give recommendations to the lodger as to where to go, eat and how to get there. My room was very clean and spacey with it's own personal bathroom. Decoration was very neat, old European style. The little village or the hamlet has a very country scene. A very pleasant stay. P.S. If you drink raw milk, as Brigete for directions to a local raw milk machine that's 1.5 miles away from her home.
