  An unforgettable stay at Terraced Chalets - amazing place, lovely people!

  When the Covid lockdown was announced, our adventure was turned upside down! However, what could have been a really scary time turned into a much happier and more memorable experience for us. We were lucky enough to have found Terrached Chalets run by Jane and John as our base. We couldnt have asked for more kind and helpful hosts. These lovely chalets are a little haven set in beautiful gardens surrounded by an array of beautiful New Zealand birdlife and only a short drive away from many amazing places. Also, absolutely spotless when we arrived, you can tell that these chalets are well looked after! We would recommend anyone to come here and fall in love with the place like we did. Just give Jane and John a call who will be happy to help. We certainly will miss this place we called home and our hosts.not forgetting lovely Izzy the dog!

  Fantastic stay at Terraced Chalets

  We stayed at Terraced Chalets during the NZ level 4 and 3 Covid-19 lockdowns. Jane, John, Maddy & Izzy the dog turned our lockdown in to a really memorable experience, one that we left as friends! The chalets are modern, comfortable, self contained and well equiped with everything we needed, even for a 7 week stay. Just three chalets are set into the hillside, each with a private balcony to stare out over the valley of orchards and vinyards and onto Tasman Bay. An extra BBQ area with gas BBQ, tools & table/benches is shared by the three chalets. The on-site free range chickens will love taking your food scraps and reward you with extra tasty eggs. If you're lucky, the fruit & nut trees nestled around the properties will be ripe with produce as they were for us. Close enough to use as a base to explore the Tasman National Park, the southern end of the coast track is only a 15 min drive away, plenty of great beaches even closer. Riwaka is at the end of the road with some small shops/cafe's/artisan brewery, Motoueka is a short drive if you need more. Be sure to make use of the many fruit stalls on the roads (and back-roads) for really fresh produce. Note that you really do need some transport to make best use of the area, there's little within a short walking distance of the property (also part of it's attraction). Drop Jane & John a call or email directly to book and make the most of their local knowledge to plan your trip at the same time. Wave to John on his ride-on mower as you head up the driveway and don't forget to pay Izzy her scritch tax to continue to your chalet. We will certainly be heading back to Terraced Chalets when we return to the South Island.

  What a find

  We were just looking for an over night stay to break up our trip and found this beautiful property. What a find, from the booking through to our departure we could not fault our stay. If you want a quite, clean and comfortable stay in a park like setting with views then this us for you.thanks Jane and John we will be back for more than just 1 night next time.

  Wonderful Visit

  Beautiful Chalets with great views. Spotlessly clean and very well appointed. Situated between Kaiteriteri and Motueka, ten minute drive from both. Beautiful gardens and delightful hosts Jane and John. We will certainly return to the Chalets.

  Sunny and relaxing

  The chalets are located midway between Motueka and Kaiteriteri/Abel Tasman and thus ideal for us. Sunny location on a hill with a view, but a short drive to our destinations. For others looking to stay, do make the length of your stay at least a couple of days, there is plenty to see and do. The chalets have good parking, the bed is comfortable, and there were all the kitchen facilities we needed. We would have liked another shelf or two to store our food (there is lots of fruit available locally - and it doesn't all fit in the refrigerator!) and a shelf in the bathroom would have been good as well. Shower was hot and powerful, bed comfortable, and WiFi performance fine. Hosts very friendly, and they gave us a great tip for a vineyard dining experience.
