  Uncomfortable but clean

  Parking is good, room was tidy but small. 3/4 bed would not have been wide enough for my wife and I (I stayed alone this time) Staff were very very good and helpful. High praise. Sitting lounge furniture very upright and uncomfortable. You need floppy chairs to relax in after skiing. Please change. Was like a hospital waiting room. Food quality in restaurant was ok. Not special. The pizza in town was better. Overall price charged for room 30% too expensive for type of stay but clean hotel with really good staff. Must install electric car chargers for Tesla etc at hotel as none in Megève.

  Nice location but disappointing experience.

  This is the first time in more than 10 years that I was misled by a booking.com description of a hotel. Nothing is false but it doesnt tell the whole story. Chalet le Prariand is not a standard three stars Hotel. The property belongs to a retirement union of French employees of Notaries. It is managed by a company focusing on senior citizen 50+ (and their tribe, mostly seniors with their grandchildren). They sell bundle of room (half or full board) to group of retirees and advertise the vacant ones on booking.com. It is impossible when you book through booking.com, to know if you will get a room facing the Mont Blanc Valley (south) or the north face of the Hotel facing also the mountain but without any nice view nor balcony. After you have booked they offer you an upgrade price +50% to get the nice view with balcony. Even the upgraded one are very very very tiny, with no room to store your suitcases but under the bed. Breakfast buffet is decent, although croissants and Danish are frozen industrial goods. Meals are very basic two choices of appetizers and two choices of dish sometime well prepared sometime so an so, a couple of time our portion of meat was around 50g good enough if you are over 85!! The price is cheap for Megève 21 but you are better off if you drive 1.5 mile to Praz sur Arly where decently price restaurants give you a much better deal. Most of the dishes are based on frozen food. Service is generally good and courteous, but we were very upset by their stubbornness regarding table allocation in the restaurant. Table mapping is set once and for all at the beginning of the week and even if a table with nice view is available you wont get it and be pushed in a corner or behind a pillar. Complain to the front desk was inefficient. We have never seen that in sixty years of extensive travel. We will report that to the CEO Nicolas Dechavanne.

  Great Hotel, Friendly staff and good facilities

  We recently stayed here with a group of 10 people on a ski trip. I had my reservations after reading some reviews but it was great. The staff were all lovely and helpful, the ski shuttle in the morning and evening was easy and linked well with the towns main ski bus. Evening meal was lovely (although no free wine) but very relaxed with timings and the breakfast was all you could want - even cook your own pancakes and boiled eggs! We walked into town in the evening which was easy and only took 20 mins bit longer coming home due to being out! There was a lovely jacuzzi and sauna which was gratefully used after skiing every day. I would definitely recommend this as a good value hotel in the picturesque old fashioned ski resort of Mege.

  Excellent family trip. I will recommend to all families who want to have perfect holidays.

  Good food, lots of opportunities for children, great atmosphere, professional and really nice employees. I will recommend the Chalets du Prariand to all families who want perfect ski holidays. Perfect view on the Mont Blanc. Ideal
