Controversial family experienceHad a family trip to Madonna de Campiglio, stayed in this hotel. Overall it is an ok place to stay. The internet works fine in all three rooms we had. The administration of the cafeteria is well organized, all staff members were friendly to us. We loved out waiter Mario, who was very polite and did his best to meet all our needs. We really enjoyed the SPA area. However, several issues arose during our stay: 1. Weve booked our rooms two and a half months prior to our trip. Nevertheless, we anded up being in the rooms on the forth floor in the attic with no view at all (the roof covered it), without any possibility to properly open tiny windows even to reach our heads out. One room had a balcony with no view (see the attached pic). All the nice rooms were occupied by Italians and we were told there are no other rooms available for us. 2. Weirdly working shuttle. The hotel is located pretty far away from the slopes and that means that there must be a properly organized shuttle. However, only two shuttles are available for all the guests and it results in waiting lines in the morning. Waiting time is sometimes over an hour. Sometimes shuttle driver comes and says he is not bringing us anywhere because he has to empty the trash bins and we have to wait. Why not bring us to the slopes first? One of the shuttle drivers speaks no word of English and was sometimes rude to us: he just hangs up the phone when he doesnt understand what we are saying or when there is a teenager talking to him. Shuttles are available in Madonna de Campliglio zone only, in you end up skiing in the nearby zones, you have to get a taxi. At reception desk on the first day we were told that the shuttles cover all the Ski Area, but when we called a shuttle from a place literally 15 minutes away from the hotel by car, we were rejected the shuttle and they have sent it only as an exception after an argument and then explained that they do not provide any shuttles further than to the slopes located nearby. Every day we waited for approximately 40-60 minutes for a shuttle to pick us up from Madonna De Campiglio, it would be faster to just walk to the hotel honestly. 3. My teenage siblings were consistently being asked to leave the SPA area at 18:00 nevertheless they are both over 12 years of age and behaved well. On the hotel web site nothing is said about the fact, that children arent available to stay in the SPA zone after 6pm. Only through conflict was it possible to let them stay. The situation with attempts to remove the teens took place three times. We didn't understand how come a family comes to the hotel with kids and then kids are forcibly removed from the SPA area. The older teens were not asked to leave, they just sat there in the pool smoking IQOS and no one controlled it. 4. It is really cold in the corridors on the way to the SPA and back. With wet hair after swimming in the pool one has to wait for an elevator to come in the corridor where the temperature is close to the one outside due to the fact that ski storage room is located on the same floor and the door there is always open. After being asked to close the door (which can only be done by a staff member, the door is fixed open) nothing was done to change the situation. 5. Food is really worth another huge review. Lord story short, the hotel chefs put a lot of effort to make it look like high kitchen dishes when in reality barely anything tastes good, the food simply doesn't bring any enjoyment. Bread served at dinner was never fresh. The breakfast was okay. 6. The hotel administration doesnt care much about the complaints and does nothing to change the situation. It seems like no one has real power to change anything and that people just sit there as a decoration. Shuttle not working properly? Okay, we will talk to the driver. Nothing changes. Rooms located weirdly? Sorry, no other rooms for you. Cold in the corridor? Sorry. Nothing is done. We just got formal replies. Weve been skiing in Europe for over 8 years and this is the first experience that is more negative than positive. We are disappointed. We payed a lot of money for the hotel, the prices are more of a 5-star hotel, but the service is like in a 3-star one.

The Place to go in Madonna di Campiglioafter a long research as per my indipendent traveller's habit, I decided to book at HCB a superior room for me and my young daughter in the last week of February. The decision was made of following few simple key points I normally use when decide for a trip : room space, wood and not carpet floor, food choice, valet service to the ski area. This was of course based on paper, feedback and images from previous guests. Then the reality sometime exceed the expectation!! i just left the reception after shaking hands with the owner and the great professionality of the receptionists. He came almost every night to reassure the guest of the safety conditions they adopted for this strange alarming situation of the virus. Ever day the staff take care of us being discrete and careful. Few others points not to be too long: - room cleaned and checked 2 times a day ( 4 different type of pillow !) - Sky tv ( for a football fun is a must ) - wi -fi always at high speed ( it is impossible not to stay on line nowadays) - bar and aperitivo with excellent finger food ( sushi on request and high level cantine) - car valet always available to every ski station - 600m walking distance to the center - great SPA area clean and well equipped - also very nice place for children with a wide play room last but not least the food...simply great with 4 courses with some special mention for the pasta and the meat . I do not have to give something to anyone as indipendent traveller so this rating it is absolutely reflecting the reality. Andrea
