  A good option inside the city

  Its a well maintained hotel with a good resturant. Staff speaks average level English which makes life a bit easier for the foreign guests. Breakfast spread has quite a few vegeterian & non-vegeterian options.

  Staff are great and most speak good English. Food is ok, plenty of places to eat locally. The rooms & the rest of the hotel is very dated (1980s), but you wont find many hotels in the city. I was there for 2 months with work, overall Ive stopped in worse digs in the UK but in the uk it was reflected in the price

  Uncomfortable

  I am writing this review at 4am in the morning, unable to sleep as the bed is as hard as a table top, the pillows are filled with lead and the duvet like a mat. Sleeping on the floor would be just about the same level of (un)comfort. The room is clean and that's the only positive thing I can say. Oh yes, and the hot water is hot.

  Bad bad awful

  How this has four star rating on trip advisor is a miracle because this hotel is like an outbuilding/annex from old school days and it hasnt been decorated since 1970, everything is half broken in room and they even have Lino on the bathroom floor which floods every time you take shower, restaurant is also poor. Staff in restaurant good but food is mediocre. Official rating max 2 star. If given choice would never stay here again.

  Decent hotel within reasonable budget at this part of the world. Apart from the hotel rooms, they have studio apartments, which are quite good and convenient for a longer stay in Uralsk. The lunch buffet is also fine.
