Too much "Eco", not enough comfortThis hotel is quite a few miles from Macapa. It has a jungle motif, with air conditioned slleping cabins. It's rather isolated, food is mediocre at best, bathrooms need updating, and very few guests stay here.

Very poorly maintainedThis hotel might well have been reasonable in the past, however the entire property (with the sole exception of the Reception area) is in need of renovation and in particular the common areas have not been maintained. Unless the owner / manager wakes up soon it will be beyond salvation.

Interesting eco-hotel in MacapaThis hotel is rather "out of the way" if you have business in Macapa, the state capitol and also where most business and the airport is. So, if short on time, or with a low budget for transport, it is not the ideal hotel for you. That said, the setting is very interested, as the structure is set around a water hole in the swampy plains of the region, with diverse bungalows around the tiny lake/pond, and the whole area is filled with trees, and has lots of birds and other small animals thinking the place is theirs. That is very nice, when you wake up in the morning... if you care for that type of environment. I have never seen so many "quatis" (Amazon striped raccoon) running around in one place as here! The infrastructure invokes mixed feelings: it is clean, and organised, however, rather simple and rustic, but not the romantic rustic: gaps under the door allow insects to fly in, the bathroom door did not close perfectly, and the free wi-fi had a weak signal, and was slow. Breakfast was simple, but did have some fresh fruit, two types of juice, and scrambled eggs. Considering that it is difficult to find a great hotel with good cost-benefit, for the Macapa area, it is not a bad hotel to stay in.

All the creature comforts in the Amazon of BrazilAs part of my world cup experience, my son and I stayed here for a week. The room was very spacious, quite tired and old, but did it's job, and although we "ate them out" of all their fried chips by the end of the stay, the room service was good. No one working spoke English, but had translation books and phone aps available and we always enjoyed a good laugh while trying to communicate about the basics. Very friendly staff Lots of room on site for playing sports with a full size soccer field and very well maintained pool available 24/7 for use as well. The trails were closed due to weather damage, but overall this was a great little slice of amazon beauty. For the more adventurous sorts, my son (13yrs) and I left the resort and spent a few days walking around the village, and all the locals were very friendly and welcoming despite the village nearby being very third world.
