Expensive but nice poolWe just visited the pool and pool 'restaurant' with some friends. It costs 18,- per person for 3 hours, which we thought was very expensive. In 3 hours we had a lot of fun and we ate something too. The were like 6 different slides, a large indoor poolarea, an outdoor poolarea and there was a water playing ground for kids. We recommend this for both families and friends.

Not your run of the mill Center ParcAs regular visitors to Center Parcs it's always interesting to see what each Parc does different or has to offer and Hochsauerland certainly has some twists. The Center itself has the usual suspects in regards to eateries and the usual, slightly high for what you get, prices. Your best bet is to snack at the Center but dine out in the town; plenty of good places to eat withing walking distance. The swimming pool is good with plenty of slides, pools, hot-tubs etc but again at a German Center Parc...no rapids! The pool appears to have under-gone a bit of a refurb and I have to say it was looking good. The wrist band is a great introduction doing away with the need to take loose change with you to the pool for the lockers. We didn't explore the Parc as much as we would normally but what we did see was all clean and in good condition. The Reception staff were friendly and helpful and possibly for the first time ever I would encourage people to check out the info on what's in the area; especially helpful for small scale, local maps. The internal lay out of the Center is a little unusual, for example the squash court next to the bumper-cars, but I suppose it encourages exploration We did have a couple if issues however. The hotel is confusing and difficult to navigate and some doors which can't be opened for no known reason. The addition of a "bridge" to the Center seems a pointless addition only serving to take away from the Entrance. My partner discovered cockroaches in one of the toilets in the Center which was a surprise given how clean everything appeared to be. Obviously given that this was near a couple of the restaurants it was a bit off putting. Parking is also a bit of a nightmare with parking under the hotel costing E6/day and the normal car park being on the small side

Feb half term visit with skiingChalets all recently refurbished to very high standards - especially kitchen (with an oven/microwave and dish washer) and bathrooms upstairs and down. Pool complex was excellent - all slides v good, plus new slide to ride on rubber rings. Fab bowling and good restaurants. The buffet restaurant was all you can eat and drink (including beers and wine etc). Handily located for a number of ski resorts. We went feb half term which seems to coincide with Dutch half term but not German. Most people at this time of year come to ski (as we did) which happily means centre parc facilities are never too busy. Right amount of people not to be empty, but no queuing. Used the on site shop a couple of times which wasnt too expensive, plus a 5 min drive into town to an Aldi supermarket - which was very good value. Bit hit and miss which staff spoke English - but all friendly and not a problem. Had no hot water on first day, but sorted out very promptly. We took the overnight ferry to Hook of Holland - arrives at circa 8am - so good head start for circa 4.5hr drive. Was an outdoor playground that looked good, but we did not have time to use. Broke up journey on way home with visit to Xanten roman museum, about 2 hrs from the parc not far from Dutch border. Bit unlucky with snow on our visit, but there was a good sledging place which had snow just past Winterberg that we went to for a sledge (small charge for lift and can hire sledges there).

Family friendly, amazing playground, food not the bestCottages are spacious, clean and modern. The park itself is easy to get around on foot and the playground up on the hill is amazing, best I've ever seen and entertained 3 kids (9,7,2) for hours. Level of English is mixed, similar to the food in the restaurants, suggest going to Medebach to visit the supermarket or local restaurants. Winterberg is 20 mins away and well worth a visit.

One week stayI dont think its a bad place to stay but need some improvements. 1) the VIP cootage are really nice so its really a shame that we came its wasnt 100% clean. 3) the vieuw is amazing (special in the 5 section) maybe just a bit of cleaning of the grass in the point of vieuws. 4) THE MOST irrating and anniying thing is only 3% of the staff speak English. The rest dont even try yo understand you nor help you. Every poster or document you receive is in german. So if you have questions its really hard to receive an answer. Their is also not a hello nor goodbye in the shops and dont even hope for a smile. I enjoyed my stay but would mote appreciated it with some people that really care about their costumers.
