Country, quiet and comfortStayed in the CatNip cottage for the weekend. All the necessary amenities for a romantic couples getaway. The bed was amazingly comfortable and would dare say the best bed I have ever slept in while traveling! Enjoyed the remote location about 10 miles out of town which kept us out of the hustle and bustle when we were ready to escape but only a short drive to enjoy downtown Fredericksburg. We were never bothered by the other guests or the owners who make note that they respect the privacy of their guests but make their numbers readily available if needed. Here are a few things to keep in mind and my reason for only 4 stars (would give 4.5 if possible): 1. No bathroom privacy in this cottage. Unless you are ok sharing all your bathroom time with your significant other, you will have to take turns waiting outside because there is no bathroom door. In fact, the bathroom and bedroom are all congruent with no wall or separation. 2. Cool front porch, terrible porch furniture. The old wooden rocking chairs were very uncomfortable and felt like they might break with any movement so tread carefully! It's too bad because the little front porch would be great to sit out on and enjoy a nice spring evening/night. Ditch the old chairs and get some newer more comfortable wood rockers. The stump table with glass top was awesome though! Definitely need to keep that! 3. Super creepy cat doll sitting in the chair beside the bed that watches you sleep. I get the cat theme...but a creepy doll was a bit much! One last note for those interested in staying here. There is no breakfast served on location. You are provided with vouchers for $18/day to a local bakery. I will say this was a plus for me as I do not enjoy the typical B&B breakfast where you are forced to eat on a schedule and make small talk with people you don't know. We had vouchers to the Old German Bakery and Restaurant which was super busy but had excellent food and fantastic staff! Overall...would recommend the Cat's Meow!

No longer availableWe booked the Calico Cabin for our Anniversary trip over 2-4 Jan 2018 through Expedia via this site. The reservation was confirmed by Expedia but we just discovered the facility has changed owners and name. Friends had rated this highly but it is no more. Our 'confirmed' reservation was not actually confirmed and we are searching for an alternative.

Not what you pay forMy husband and I reserved the Morning Mimosa cabin for a weekend getaway. Upon arrival, everything was nice and clean. After a long day of hiking, my husband and I wanted to soak in the hot tub. We grabbed the towels for the hot tub that were rolled up in the basket, they were damp...okay, no biggie. Posted next to the hot tub are very specific rules about how to use it and keep it clean, so I had high hopes. When we took off the cover, there was a film of oil on the top and the water was grey. A wad of hair was floating on the top. Okay, cool, let use the whirlpool inside. We go inside, fill up the tub past the jets like yet another sign says to and turn it on. Water that smells like raw sewage spews everywhere including into the bottle of champagne we just bought. The entire cabin fills with the stench, everything smells like sewage. Okay...try to shower off the water pressure is so low you cant possibly wash out your hair. At this point, I lost it. I traveled 5 hours and paid $250/night for some romance with my husband we cant use the amenities that we were so looking forward to and here we are smelling like raw sewage. We packed up and drove 5 hours back home right then. To Absolute Charm- If youre going to post these rules all over the cottage on how to keep things clean and in working order, then your maintenance needs to learn how to keep things clean too. Better yet, maybe dont expect your guests to do your work for you and just check that everything is in working order yourself before the next guests arrive. You should be ashamed you charge people this kind of money. If I was just looking for a clean place to rest, I couldve gotten a Super 8.

Chic LoftAnnie's Loft, in Fredericksburg, TX, was everything we were expecting. Chic interior, clean, well maintained and quiet surroundings, great location, excellent breakfast foods. It's been a long time since all of my boxes of expectations were met. This was it! I could tell that our host enjoyed decorating this loft! It was lovely, cool, and comfortable
