Summer holidayBooked a 9 night holiday in February as a birthday surprise for my girlfriend to depart 25th july, 3 days after her birthday. This time I booked a superior 1 bedroom bungalow at this resort. On arrival, the staff we spanish and spoke good english. They provided a map to Villas bungalow which is 1 of 3 of the complexs available. Bungalow was close by the pool but our porch/terrace area was on the other side with a little more privacy. Room was cosy but as it was a superior room, we had a few extras such as ceiling fans in living and bedroom, a microwave/grill cooker, twin hobs and a proper oven. Bathroom had a large walk in shower and with modern furnishing. Lounge has a large sofa which could be used as a sofa bed and a tv with built in dvd. Room was clean and we had cleaners come every other day. Pool area was literally 1 minute walk away which was really great. As it was 1 of 3 complexs, we had access to other pools which were all really lovely. The complex itself is partially up the hill on the other side of montecastillo centre. Walk to town took around 15-20 mins depending on how well you walk, but the views of the sea are great. The complex it literally 4 minutes walk to the nearest supermarket, bars and restaurants within the montecastillo centre. This complex offers all amenities we required during our holiday and town is easily accessible by walking or even catching the local train bus or a taxi. Great value accommodation with great staff a nd clean rooms. Will definitely come back here

We are not going backWe booked this holiday for a well earned break. When we got there we where given a bungalow with no walk in shower even though it was requested. As my wife is disabled and can not step over a bath to get to use the shower. We had to wait until 2pm the next day to get moved to a disabled bungalow. That night we discovered the shower flooded the whole bungalow right into the kitchen and bedroom. The sliding door had black mould up to around 8 in from the bottom of the door. But it was ok (Not). They left a brush and a mop as bucket to slow the tide. We woke up to ants everywhere, so much so they where even in the beds. When we went to reception to let them know we where told yes we know about the shower flooding the place and the black mould but there is nothing can be done about it. As for the ants they where coming out of the sockets and the bottom of the very damp and swollen door. We asked when the maids where coming around to change the beds and towels etc. We where told tomorrow. well as the old saying goes tomorrow never comes. It took 3 days for the maids to arrive. They made the beds but didn't change the sheets and the towels where the same ones we had used that morning. It took a week for the beds to be changed and the floors where never mopped. When we went up to check our transfer time to the airport we where told we had to get out of the bungalow for 10am. Even though it clearly states on their own website and paperwork to leave by 12pm. This has got to be the worst place the wife and I have ever visited. I would advise anyone to book with caution.

Ms MarplesAt the Castillo beach park at this very moment arrived yesterday morning, place looks lovely and clean, on checking in asked for room near one of the pools, was told all taken, which later turned out not to be true, walk around the complex and saw many of the rooms was unoccupied, the room we was given is ok but not very well equipped for self catering, kettle and microwave and a 2 ring hob, but we thought that was the norm for these apartments, so we unpacked and headed out for the day, when we got back to the room we realised we had not bath towels so we showered and used the beach towels we had brought with us, the next morning we asked a cleaner if she could leave us some towels, she replied yes, so we took off for the day, got talking to ppl around the complex and was told that there rooms had ovens and toasters so our room is not the norm as we thought, when we return to our room after a full day sunbathing we still had no towels again! Off to reception we go, only to be told nothing they can do about the towels until the morning and when I asked about the toaster and iron that we was told the other rooms have, she told us that they couldnt give us any cos they didnt have enough of them, very unhelpful receptionist!

Poor serviceI booked a superior room and had requested pool and sun facing. I was shown to moon area. The smell when I opened the door was overpowering... a combination of old greasy fish cooking and something else. I went back to reception to be told all areas were fully booked, the receptionist found another room which was in vista however it was at the back facing a road so I stayed in the original room. Despite washing and leaving the doors and windows open all day the smell remained. The room did not get any daylight so this may also contribute to the smell. The rooms alongside me either remained empty or had people staying for a night or 2 then leaving despite me being told everything was fully booked. The pool area was clean and the cleaners worked hard due to people staying for short spells. The room was certainly not superior. Disappointed.

Never againIf you require comfort don't chose this place beds are children's mattress pillows are like sand bags shower curtain was moldy cannot find much good to say also 24hour reception not open when needed they don't exchange currency & it's certainly not a place to visit if one is unsteady as there's steps shale & uneven paths it's quite a walk to the nearest bars & supermarket
