    Excelente servicio

    Not your usual three star

The Castellum Suites would not be the typical hotel I would usually book. It is a very basic three-star hotel, there are no bells and whistles at this place, but what I liked is that the hotel does not pretend to be something they are not. Hotel is i a great location close to all the sites of the city and only a 7-minute walk to the walled city and 10 minutes to Elli Beach. On arrival, I thought we would spend one night and check out the next day. The executive room we had was ominous, white, uninviting, no warmth at all, with a view of a very small pool area with no plants or attractive accessories (maybe this is something the Castellum will add later as it makes a huge difference for guests). The bathroom was very large, with a great shower and very clean. The adjoining room, which we did not realise we had booked, was actually in the main bedroom with walls which did not meet the ceiling - so not quite private - good thing we did not have other guests staying with us :) it doubled up as a great dressing room. I am a coeliac (a severe autoimmune illness caused by gluten intolerance). I can honestly say the reason we did not check out after day one was because of the lovely, kindness of the staff, from Rania at reception to Irene who helped me select my dishes. The staff here at the Castelleum took 100% care of my dietary needs. Michael, the food and beverage manager, not only made sure all his staff understood my needs, he personally went out to the store and bought me bread, biscuits and pasta. Every evening the chef would leave his station to show me what I could and could not eat. Every member of the team worked like a tight-knit family who greeted their guests every morning, noon and night with warmth, smile and a chat. Although the Castellum was not a patch aesthetically on the Aqua Grand Lindos, which was the hotel we stayed in for 5 days before arriving in Rhodes City, the service, care and attention paid to my food intolerance, advice and guidance given on how to get around Rhodes from Rania at the front desk was all exceptional. The Castellum maybe 3-star rated in terms of decor, food and modernisation, but the staff were definitely 5-star rated. If you are on a budget want to stay close to town this all-inclusive hotel is worth a look. Castellum Suites made our stay in Rhodes City memorable and unforgettable.

    Very memorable holiday.

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay at the castellum hotel. Im not a fan of all Inclusive and choose this hotel for its cheapness after loosing money from changing flights as we should of been going to Turkey. We wasnt expecting much as the price was a lot cheaper than we would usually pay for bed and breakfast, but I can honestly say we where pleasantly surprised. The room was spotlessly clean with an adequate shower room. Only downside to the room was the lack of storage for clothes but only being here a week we managed. The reception to the hotel is spotlessly clean as is the bar and eating area. Food wasnt to our taste but as I said Im not a fan of AI but we did eat in twice for dinner and twice for lunch. We never got up for breakfast. I must say the highlight of this hotel for us is all the lovely people we met including the staff. Im rubbish at getting names but the regular bar staff and the bar manager where really great fun. My husband was fond of a cocktail they made called Thallassa I think thats how its spelt The guys at the bar warmed us all the time how strong this was and would laugh and joke every time we asked for it. But all in good fun. I would definitely recommend the castellum especially on a budget I would return if returning to Rhodes town again. Really enjoyed our stay.

Perfect for work, travel and relaxation, clean, spacious and fun friendly staff so close to the town.

From the moment I came in and met Rania at the reception, I felt very welcome and assured that I would be well taken care of at Castellum. She was friendly and very informative about the hotel services and my stay in the city. The staff at the restaurant were also not only very professional but also so much fun to be around. It felt more like a home to me for the little time I was there than just another hotel. Pantelis, the barman was so kind and genuine, loved hanging out and working near the bar/ restaurant. The wifi was great and the hotel space was very comfortable to work in. The rooms were also very new and felt comfortable and always clean. If I need another getaway for work or even for pleasure this will definitely be the place to stay.

    Great price & good location

During these difficult covid times, it was with a bit of hesitation that we booked a last minute holiday to Castellum Suites All Inclusive. It was a great price for a newly refurbished hotel within a very short walk of the old town. The lovely, quite spacious room had a balcony (with a small table plus 2 chairs) and a modern bathroom with a good size shower (bring your own toiletries). The smart tv meant that we were able to log into our Amazon Prime account to watch films (there was also a Netflix button). The room, and in fact the whole hotel, was wonderfully clean, even though the hotel said that the room would be cleaned less frequently due to the covid restrictions. As many have mentioned, there was a lack of hangers (only 4) and no drawers, just a large counter over the fridge and another section next to it. There was plenty of room to include a chest of drawers (plus possibly a chair) and would make a great addition. There was also a small safe in the room - no charge. The large bed was actually 2 singles pushed together. For our liking, the bed was rather too firm (as were the pillows) but it was great realising that they were brand new. The food was pretty much as you would expect for All Inclusive and we always found something that we quite liked though unfortunately, it was often warm, rather than hot, as there didn't appear to be any burners/heating below (or above) it . It was buffet style, except that the staff served you, which worked ok. However, at the beginning of our holiday, all the restaurant tables were outside, which is good from a covid point of view, but it caused problems for us as we can't stand the smell of smoke. (Although the inside of the hotel is non-smoking, it is permitted outside in the restaurant area, on balconies and around the pool.) When the weather threatened to deteriorate, a number of the tables were brought inside, which benefitted us. As regards the bar, it's not clear what is actually included free, beyond the choice of 4 cocktails which are advertised on the counter. The drinks did appear to be of quite good quality, although they were local rather than brand names. It should be mentioned that the staff wore masks (for the majority of the time) and did remind customers of the fact that wearing them was compulsory in the hotel. However, there some people around who did not appear to be complying with this - possibly contractors working in the hotel? (A bigger poster reminding people to wear a mask in the very small lifts would be handy. There is one right next to the lift reminding people how to stay covid safe but it's a bit small.) The staff were hard working, friendly and wanted to make sure that everyone had a good holiday.
