Quintessentially TuscanTreat yourself to the true experience of the Maremma at its finest. Blessed by the breathtaking scenery of the most iconic hills in the old world, this middle age castle makes you travel some centuries back in time: you just need to look up some pictures to have a slight feeling of what Im talking about. What the pictures cant show is how every single moment of your stay is carefully designed to be a part of the overall symphony: from the high-end cuisine that merges creativity with exclusively local ingredients, to the amazing super-Tuscans vinified out of the Castle grape, from the details that make each suite unique, to the surrounding nature that you can explore through ad hoc advice given by the owners themselves. Carlo and his son Neri treat this as much more than the family business, and will run the extra mile to pamper you from the first moment you enter the Castle. I spent four days in this corner of heaven in the SPA suite with my girlfriend, and left super relaxed and full of energy to get back to our busy lives. We are definitely coming back for more!

A weekend of luxuryCastello di Vicarello is an idyllic and magical place. The rooms are impeccable and are designed in a luxury boutique style. All the rooms are tailor made and one can see the effort and thought that has gone into every aspect. The food is out of this world I have never eaten so well in my life and the staff are extremely friendly and accommodating. I would recommend this hotel any day and cant wait to go back!

Something out of a movieCastello di Vicarelo cannot be described in words that do it justice. Our stay here was nothing short of a dream come true. If youre looking for romance, history, art, fine dining and peace, Castelo Vicarelo has it all. Its one thing to have an increíble castle, but what really made our experience incredible was the staff. They anticipated every need we could possibly have, our experience felt so personal and yet they maintained the utmost level of professionalism. Neri is the manager of the place and truly one of a kind. It was as if he were our friend who knew what we wanted when we wanted. He made our stay 10x better in the most effortless manner. Anything from wine suggestions to information about the construction of the grounds, he never ceased to offer incredible service. We felt there was no limit to the spectrum of our desires.

OverpricedOverall the hotel was quite nice beautiful landscape, nice staff and two possibilites to take a swim which was beneficial. However, we booked a wine tasting for 85 euro per person and all we got was 2 glases of their local wine which was a really good wine, but not up to the standards... We have done some wine tastings in the area where we paid 25 euros per person including a huge lunch. Therefore, when we experienced the wine tasting at the castle we were in shock.... we indeed got some little bread pieces with chesse on it but it was really minimmaistic... One of the brothers who run the hotel told us about the history during the wine tasting which was plesant but not explained the 85 euros. Short to the point the price is really arrogant. At checkout we complained about the wine tasting but sadly they were not showing any reaction considering that you pay quite an amount per night for the stay. When guets are not happy you may try to meet them, but with us they changed nothing on the bill and let us leave unsatisfied.
