To the manor bornWe arrived at Roncade Castle to celebrate a friend's 50'th birthday and were treated like family from the off. We were lucky enough to be accommodated in the main house in a suite. The height of the ceilings was simply immense as were the windows which flooded the rooms with light. The room was dual aspect with views over the garden and the vinyards. Breakfast was the usual continental breakfast served in the vinyard visitor centre. The facilities were very good indeed and the family made everyone welcome. We ate on two occasions in the town and enjoyed an exceptional meal of local specialities in the castle on the evening of the birthday itself. On one day the Castle arranged a bus to take us to Padua for the day and on another day they arranged taxi's to take us to Venice. It was a smashing visit, the staff and family couldn't have done enough for us. I would highly recommend staying in the main house if visiting this area of Italy.

A place in HistoryMy wife and I stayed in the Tower Studio for 5 days at the end of January. The location kept jumping out of the page at me when I was searching for accommodation, it was a great choice. Read the other reviews, they are true. We will come back. Theres not enough room to list the good points, but here goes; Easily located and convenient for the airports. Venice, easily reached by very cheap and efficient train service. Treviso, Vicenza, Padua all easily reached by road. Roncade is a pleasant town with several decent restaurants to suit all budgets, plenty of shops and supermarkets, banks and anything else you may need. The Castello is magnificent, impressive upon arrival with its walls, towers, gates and gardens. Our room, The Tower studio was enormous, well equipped, warm and very comfortable. There is plenty of parking, under cover as well. Breakfast is taken in the wine tasting room, great location and more than adequate. The surroundings of the buildings, the Wine making and the gardens are just a perfect environment. Best of all, the staff, who couldnt have been more helpful, informative, welcoming and friendly. Nothing seemed too much trouble and all were more than willing to give guidance on how to spend your day best. The Baron, his family, the wine making staff, the kitchen staff, the cleaners were all excellent. Wed like to make special note of thanks to Beatrice and Rita who were excellent hosts to the extent that we were invited out on our last evening .

Sleep like a Baron & BaronessI am a bit prejudice as I have come to know the owners, and they are most charming as is the staff, but if I didn't, I'd still be under their spell. The Medieval wall with crenelated towers wraps the garden. Once inside, the ancient Cedars of Lebanon trees amaze. The 1508 classically inspired villa is fully restored and palatial, and the guest rooms are sumptuous: the rooms we stayed in had separate sleeping and sitting areas, and fully renovated marble slab lined bathrooms. The view were of the garden and of the vineyard. Breakfast is in the Winery shop mezzanine with well prepared foods and coffees......and then there are the wines and Prosecco that Roncade is known for. 30 miles away from Venice, it's a great place to sleep while touring the Veneto Region, allowing for easy day trips to the mountains, to Venice, to the Treviso region and it's many sites.
