  Not so bad in general

  We stayed here for 5 days to visit the slovenian coast (10mn to Koper and 25mn to Portoroz) and maybe Trieste and Rieka by car. The hotel is located at 250m of the Italian border, next to a duty free shop (where it is nice to buy cheap soft drinks for example at 0.40), and a small tunnel in front of the shop takes you to the other side of the highway where there's a nice restaurant. I have to agree with other comments about the smell upon entering the hall on the first day. There was this bad smell in the lobby and along the halls, that has disappeared in the room. I don't know the reason for that, but it was less noticeable on the remaining days. The room is big and comfortable, the hotel restaurant food is very good, but unfortunately the breakfast had a big flaw, the Slovenian/Italian speakers favoritism. We never would've known that it was possible to order scrambled eggs or an omelet for example rather than the boiled eggs proposed initially on the buffet, before seeing Italians ordering some. Same thing with the hot beverages, there's a simple hot beverage dispenser but it is possible to order freshly served machiatos or cappuccinos instead. This was very disappointing for English speaking clients to feel left behind with what's available on the buffet. It should be written somewhere... So now that you know that, you'll enjoy the breakfast there!

  Not bad but it could be better for a 4 star hotel

  The room was clean and tidy and it was really quiet, you could have a good night sleep. Unfortunately when we asked for two separate blankets instead of one it was impossible for the staff to get them for us which was really strange. The biggest disappointment was the hotel breakfast. There was only a poor selection and we always had to notify the waiter to fill up (which all of them did very slowly...) and there was absolutely no vegetables and at one time we asked for coffee the waitress pointed to the small coffee machine they had and it took some time for me to get us real coffee.

  Good pit-stop for travelling to Balcans

  We have sleeped just for a night, but the room was spacey and colored with an original "style". In any case comfortable, clean and offering a fine breakfast. If you have a spare time, there are slot machines for bet some money.

  Good value for money

  Friendly staff, clean rooms, . Breakfast was not very good, not a lot of choice, the juices are not fresh, and the coffee was good. We had dinner, the food in the restaurant was excellent, the wine from the Belje winery was excellent-

  Casino Hotel Carnevale

  Located close to the border between Slovenia and Italy, the Casino Hotel Carnevale is a pleasant 4 star hotel with nice dining room on the ground floor. There is limited shopping and a petrol station next door.
