An Idyllic Setting in PiedmonteWe stayed at Cascina Bricchetto for the last week of October 2009 in Ca dra Topia, the larger of the two apartments. Ca dra Topia has 3 en suite bedrooms plus a very well equipped kitchen & living area. It was ideal for a group of 3 couples and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this very secluded part of Piedmonte. Giovanna was a charming & helpful hostess, providing us with all the help that we required, including making bookings at several local restaurants. The farmhouse is in a very attractive but quite remote location on top of a hill at the end of a narrow winding road. A car is required to make the best of this location, which has beautiful views over the hills & vineyards of the Langhe. It is a very peaceful & tranquil place. On the clearer days we were able to make out Mont Blanc in the far distance & the sunsets through the evening haze were quite beautiful. It was an easy drive into Alba & other villages of the region where there are numerous excellent cafes & restaurants. We particularly liked the cafe on the corner where Via Vitorio Emanuele meets Piazza Savona in Alba.

Wonderful Stay in The LangheHighly recommended accommodation set in the beautiful hills and vineyards of The Langhe near Alba. Cascina Bricchetto is situated on a hilltop with stunning 360 degree views of Italy's finest wine region and out to the Alps. It is a place of incredible beauty and tranquillity. The location and the quality of the accommodation were perfect for a 5-day visit to the Barolo and Barbaresco areas of Piemonte. The unit was very clean, well equipped and comfortable in every way. But the best part of our visit was the wonderful warmth and hospitality of our host Giovanna. What an absolute joy to have such a special person like Giovanna to look after us - it felt like staying with an old friend! With her local knowledge, she provided excellent guidance and recommendations for winery visits and restaurants. Our visit would not have been the same without her. Already making plans to return next year -- thanks for everything Giovanna!!!!

Beautiful locationOur group of two couples and a four year old boy stayed here in late December 2012/early January 2013. It was a very comfortable home with terrific views of the surrounding countryside. Giovanna was very helpful in arranging places to have lunch in the vicinity, and recommending places to visit. Despite it being a very quiet time of year, she still managed to make restaurant bookings for us at some great local restaurants - exactly the kind of places that make us so happy to be in Italy. Other reviewers have commented on the windy roads getting to the property, which mystifies me as the whole region consists of those kind of roads! It wouldn't be 'Piemonte' without the hills which make the windy roads necessary. They are no more treacherous than any of the other roads in the region - take a deep breath, take it easy and trust the skills of the local drivers. And hire a small car... My only small suggestion for improvement would be for Giovanna to bundle up all the small 'extra' charges into one charge and just add it on to the total price. Heating costs certainly need to be separate, as they are substantial in winter, but the other charges are really small and it just seems unecessary to account for them all individually.

WOW! Stunning, such a lovely welcome & locationIncredible views of the surrounding vineyards. The owners parents showed us around the house and treated us like members of their own family. Exactly what you want from a B&B. The breakfast in the morning was great and a very homely atmosphere set amidst a farm/freehold. We sat on the patio watching the stars drinking a drop of the local produce and it was absolute bliss. Word of caution, the place is fantastic provided you have your own car. It is in the middle of the countryside and therefore there are few restaurants/bars closeby. However we found a great place called Villa Fernando approx. 2 km away and the hosts could not have been more accomadating considering our lack of Italian. Another thing to consider is the hosts only accept cash which caught us out but the host Andrea drove us into Asti to a cashpoint with zero fuss. He could not have been any sweeter. We only stayed at Cascina Bricchetto for one night but could have happily spent a week or more there. Asti is a beautiful region to stay in and one that I know for certain that we will return to. Furthermore I would without question return to Cascina Brichetto.

Stunning views, clean and beautiful house - we will return! We LOVED staying at Cascina Bricchetto!!! We were in the Grape Pergola House with three couples (3BR, 3 Bath). Very spacious, clean, well stocked and we had a gorgeous view of the Alps (on clear days) and of grape vines. We took a cooking class from Giovanna which was a lot of fun and scrumptious! It was also a central location for thraveling throughout Piedmont. We will be back to stay at her lovely place again!
