Ski vacation March 2019Welcome was well done even though we were late arriving. Room was comfortable, a little warm, but adjustable quickly.. very quiet at all times, pool was enjoyable, exercise room well designed, hot tub monitored often, . Mountain View was enjoyable, location was very close to ski mountain. Breakfast was more than expected, excellent, many well done choices to pick from. Ate enough delicious bacon for a year. Parking was available and plentiful . Refrigerator was overworking itself, kept everything frozen. Unable to adjust.

Great Location, Typical LodgeYou can easily walk with your gear to the base. There's a shuttle that runs frequently too. The lodge is clean but dated. Nothing fancy about this place. It's easy to get around and should have mostly everything you need. Breakfast was very good and the coffee was always hot. The front parking lot was super icy and I fell twice, so that's a problem. The rates at neighboring lodges were higher, and even though they might have more amenities, I'd stay here again. I came for the mountain and it did not disappoint. I'm an average skiier and my boyfriend is a better than average boarder and we both were challenged on some routes and had a blast.

Horrible waterI got pretty much what I expected from this hotel which is, as others have noted, extremely shabby and outdated. The room was comfortable enough, and the location was good. Ridiculously overpriced, but I did stay over New Years. But what really is unacceptable is their water. It is so over treated with salt, it is undrinkable. I literally gagged. And, since they use the same water to make their coffee, the coffee is disgusting. If you stay here, be sure to bring your own bottled water.

Old fashion decor but no other complaints, very close to liftsTo start, Cascades Inn is dated. Just about everything there screams 1980s and 1990s. In our room, there was a tube TV and the telephone was old school - a large phone with a big red light on top. And there was a funky smell throughout. I would not say it was a bad smell, it was just a smell. None of these things were deal killers for us. In fact, we had a great stay. But I felt that it is important to get those details on the table, because that could be an issue for some people. It did not bother us. The location is unbelievably great - virtually across the street from the Snowshed lodge and the tunnel to Ramshead. It is right off the Access Road, so it is easy to get to all the restaurants and shopping along that road. The room was spacious with two beds and a clean bathroom, plus a small balcony that overlooked the parking lot and the mountains in the distance. There was also a small dorm fridge in the room. The only complaint is the room is that it was very hot. We finally turned down the heat when we figured out the dial was on the baseboard. The breakfast was great, with a complete selection of eggs, bacon, pancakes, French Toast plus breads, bagels, cereal, juices and coffee. The dining area is large, full of light and clean. There is also a living room area and small bar. There is an indoor pool that looked rather large but we did not use it. We did pay $150 plus resort fees and taxes per night for the room, which I thought was quite expensive for what we got. But it was a weekend night during the ski season, so I did not expect it to be super-cheap but given the décor I did fell like it was a bit high.
