  Buen hotel

  Solo pasamos una noche en este hotel, llegamos al medio dia y despues de comer nos llevaron a unas cataras que hay cerca (con coste adicional), el camito precioso se ve toda la costa desde la montaña de Oslob y las cataratas preciosas. A la mañana siguiente nos llevo a Tan-awan para nadar con el tiburon ballena (coste adicional claro esta por el porte). Trato super agradable, buena persona. Buenas habitaciones, limpias, silencioso, en el mismo centro de Oslob, cerca de un mercado, catedral, ayuntamiento...

  Perfect stop just for the night

  Pros: The room was big, comfy memory foam bed and pillows, slept like a dream. Air con was good, bathroom was clean and hot shower. Location is perfect, a nice restaurant just next door aswell as a 7/11 and 15 minute 50 peso per person trike ride for the whale shark swimming. Also only 30 mins on the Ceres bus to Luan port to get the ferry direct to siquijor. Staff are friendly and will assist you with anything. Cons: Our pillows smelt cheesy like they havent dried properly. Our friends room smelt very old and musky when they put on the air conditioning so couldnt have that on.

  Lazy staff, unclean and snotty response

  My partner and I recently stayed a Casa Solmar. We chose this place as it was our first destination in the Philippines and the reviews all stated that the owners and staff were helpful and friendly. However this was very different from our experience. I reviewed this on another website and received a very snotty and rude response from the owners. It appeared that the nights that we stayed, the owners (the parents) were away and left their children in charge. Their children being a grown man and woman and two younger children. The two oldest were sprawled out on the sofa all day, everyday. They were very lazy and not helpful or even bothered with any of their guests. The youngest boy and girl seemed to be the only ones working. When I sent this review in, the owners told me that I was wrong and it was guests watching TV and told me if I'm looking for five star service I should go else where. I'm a backpacker and I've been staying in budget accommodation ALL ACROSS SOUTH EAST ASIA and this was one of the worst experiences of customer service I've had in all of the 9 countries I've visited so far. This is fine to stay for one night, but don't expect friendly service or any sort of acknowledgement. Maybe we would have had a different experience if the parents had been around!

  Nice place

  A nice place to stay. The people there are very friendly. We also booked the whaleshark-tour from the hostel. It was a nice tour without problems. At the end we wanted to leave one day earlier, and got back our money which we already payed for the next night.

  Disappointed

  We read the reviews for this hotel online and had high hopes but we were sadly disappointed. Not to sure that people went to the same place as us? Hotel staff were always MIA and the front desk was unmanned pretty much all the time so we waited a while to check in and when we needed something we were stood there a while. The hotel isnt near anything and if you use the one cash machine in about a 100 mile radius then make sure you dont bother using a MasterCard. MasterCards dont work in the ATM only VISA. We had problems and the staff didnt tell us this it was a local who informed us. We had help from the lady at the front desk who assigned us a guy to take two of us on his motorbike to see the whale sharks and then to the waterfall, however we had to stop off at the hotel on the way to the waterfall for cash and we didnt see him again so he basically took our money and we then had to pay for someone else to take us. If you are watching to see the whale sharks then if I were you I would do it as a day tour and dont stay in Oslob. Theres nothing here and a lot of the people arent very helpful. The hotel states it doesnt have any WiFi but we found there were hardly any places with WiFi to eat or chill at. We left as early as possible on the day of check out.
