Amazing hotel. Would be 5/5 if food prices were reasonableStayed for 6 nights for some R&R. Hotel is really lovely and decorated to a high standard. Pool area and dining in the courtyard are definite highlights. Staff were great, particularly Maria! My wife has ceoliac and the hotel were accommodating of this, even baking gluten free cake just for my wife (and allowing us to take with us when we checked out). The one negative for me is the prices once at the hotel. For the two of us to eat lunch and dinner at the hotel would have been 150 per day (25pp lunch / 50pp dinner). Food was simple and nice, but I think the price is unreasonable given the premium you pay to stay here. Any snacks during the day were also expensive (40 for a charcuterie board). I didn't expect cheap but it felt very much like the aim was to extract as much as possible once you'd arrived. We were brought sherry post-dinner (without asking) and found that this was then added to our bill at the end of the stay. Overall, really lovely hotel, in a lovely part of Spain (Vejer de la Frontera is nearby and definitely worth a visit), but we were disappointed with the price of food and didn't eat at the hotel most nights because of this.

Fantastic hideawayIf you're looking for a fantastic place to escape and relax then Casa la Siesta is perfect for you. Beautiful grounds with rustic rooms, we loved it. The staff are superb and the hotel is full of neat touches...free freshly baked cookies, huge lavish breakfasts, a friendly cat and some free drinks.

Entirely driven by greed. We stumbled across Casa La Siesta when researching Andalusian wedding venues online. It appeared to tick all the initial boxes for our desired needs and while we did encounter a few concerning reviews at the time we gave them the benefit of the doubt while getting swept up in the aesthetics of glossy website photos. Its easy to fall into that trap when organising entirely from the other side of the world. We faced a series of challenges with the venue from the start including sparse communication for extended periods, a contract which took 5 months to receive despite having blindly paid thousands in deposits, and very little support with the planning aspect. For example, we had to research and source all our own suppliers from Australia without any assistance regardless of the fact we paid CLS an additional 2,000 coordination fee. It was by far a smooth journey and we did not feel we were remotely getting the level of service and support we expected from this overpriced exclusive venue. When Covid hit globally in March 2020 things got worse. News reported that Spain was in an extended state of emergency lockdown and the venue and vendors were closed indefinitely. We chased numerous times for any updates struggling with their poor management of the situation, and while we appreciated this was unchartered waters for everyone, we at least expected to be kept in the loop. We would then receive a reply containing contradictory reports of the gravity of the pandemic. We were told it wasnt as bad as the news media portrayed, there was no risk to our wedding and repeatedly advised to proceed with having a wedding during a pandemic as we would not receive any money back. It felt greatly deceptive to make light of a serious pandemic when the death rates were skyrocketing and caused an enormous level of upset and stress to be pressured in a situation that seriously risked the health and safety of our loved ones, including many elderly, who were travelling from various corners of the world for this one-off occasion. Obviously, the wedding could not and did not proceed in September for a host of obvious reasons outside our control. Aside from Australias international travel ban blocking us from leaving the country, the venue was closed for several months including the date of our wedding!! To date we have not received reimbursements of any form for the thousands of euro paid. Our guests similarly have not received any refunds or credit for their exorbitant accommodation expenses either. Shockingly, the venue not only kept our money for services that could not be used at the time they were supposed to but they later advertised accommodation availability across dates we had an exclusive booking of the property thereby double-dipping. We have lawyers involved now. It has cost us many months of anguish; a deeply scarring and jarring experience. We never want to step foot across the door in the future for how disappointingly unprofessional, greedy and unwilling they have been to negotiate an outcome thats fair on both parties during an extremely challenging time. This is a prime example of 'all style - zero ethics.'

Our favourite holiday destination and a dream wedding venueWe (a couple) first experienced the delights of Casa La Siesta in September 2018 as we spent a few days in Vejer de la Frontera as part of a wider trip exploring Andalucia. I remember especially looking forward to our stay here. It sounded like an authentic and peaceful destination with all of the qualities that you would hope for from a boutique hotel; fresh local food, excellent service, quality rooms, and of course, charm. It really didn't disappoint on any of these levels and surpassed both of our expectations. As soon as we walked through the beautiful gardens surrounding Casa La Siesta we were treated with a warm and friendly welcome. We could immediately tell that nothing was too much trouble for the highly attentive staff. Shortly after our glass of chilled Cava on arrival, we were sitting by the tranquil pool filled with excitement. Earlier in the year we had got engaged and out of nowhere, we were both discussing a wedding a Casa La Siesta. We had always planned on a quiet wedding / eloping but we had fallen immediately in love with the place and we couldn't think of a better venue to share with our friends and family. We arranged the date for September 20. The planning for the wedding went seamlessly mostly because the Wedding Planner Nuria is exceptional. At first, we wondered what we would get for our money but the answer was a lot less stress than most who get married. Nuria was consistently in touch pulling our dream wedding together and we were super excited, not just about the wedding, but to go back to Casa La Siesta again. Sadly due to the pandemic, we had to cancel our wedding which was really disappointing. Casa la Siesta were very understanding and caring about our wedding just as much as we did and offered up future dates or the option to use the wedding fee as a voucher at a later date. We couldn't have expected anything more except we didn't expect the message to be delivered in such a sincere and professional way over a video call with Nuria. A really nice touch but Casa la Siesta is full of them so we shouldn't have been surprised. We cannot wait for our next trip back to Casa la Siesta whenever that may be.
