    Two lovely weeks in Orvieto

We spent two weeks at Casa Flavia in September. The apartment is centrally located, within easy reach of sights, restaurants and shopping. The delightful owner of this clean, comfortable apartment, Roberta, was welcoming and helpful, with an extensive knowledge of the town and surrounding area. Highly recommended. Paul and Donna C.

    Nice apartment

Nice apartment centrally located. Very clean and well kept. Orvieto is a great little town but be prepared when you arrive by train. There are virtually no taxis to be had. A little bit of a haul with suitcases.

Not a B&B, just someone's rented out apartment

I would advise all to steer clear of Casa Flavia. Upon arrival, theres a note on the door with a phone number to call to get keys to what I learned was actually a person's apt. If you dont have an intl cell, this could be a showstopper. After waiting 10-15 minutes for the owner to arrive, we were escorted upstairs to the apt through a stairwell that reeked of cigarettes and urine. The owner requested upfront payment cash only, no credit card! The owner told us check-out was at 10am, and she showed up the next morning at 9:55am to escort us out of her apt. Very unhospitable! Moreover, there were no toiletries (shampoos, soaps, etc.), and there was only one clean towel available for our party of three. There were two additional damp, moldy-smelling towels hung up behind the door which seemed previously used. There was only one HALF roll of toilet paper available; we had to go buy additional tissue. The hot water in the shower was intermittent, floors were dirty, and there was a crumpled up tissue under one of the pillows on the bed. The Bfast part of this B&B was a joke! The owner asked us the night before if we wanted coffee, tea, or juice, and told us wed get one croissant each. Bfast was served across the street at a neighboring café, where we learned there were other options, but if we wanted them, we had to pay extra. Even water cost extra! When bare essentials for an overnight stay are not provided, and breakfast is sparse, one can hardly call themselves a B&B.

THE place to stay in Orvieto!

We greatly enjoyed our stay at Casa Flavia! The location was perfect: just off of the main street with its shops and restaurants. The apartment was comfortable and had everything that we needed to feel at home. The patio off of the bedroom was lovely but the December weather didn't make it possible to spend time on it. Best of all was the warm welcome and help that we received from Roberta, our hostess. Because the walled city made it challenging for driving and parking, she escorted us to and from a safe area in which to keep our car. The time that we spent conversing with her made us feel that we'd made a new friend! Orvieto and the region of Umbria are beautiful. Be sure to drive to nearby Civita di Bagnoregio.

    Avoid avoid avoid!!!!!!

Don't even THINK about booking this place! We turned up with our girls in 36 degree heat - no one at apartment! We called 3 numbers but no answer! After one hour, a woman appeared but no apology!!!!! She led us upstairs. The place STANK of stale smoke. Yuk! As we entered the apartment, we were SO excited to see the terrace. You can imagine our shock when we asked where it was. She said that it 'was broken...' outside the terrace wax full if broken slates, tools, ladders etc but NO ACCESS. She said it was being sorted. We were utterly speechless and almost in tears. We left without a second thought and sat outside on the pavement as the woman walked away and slammed door shut! All in, a HORRENDOUS experience! If you want to enjoy your trip to beautiful Orvieto, avoid this place at all costs. You will be sorely disappointed!
