  friendly people, beautiful place

  Our stay at Casas do Toural was pleasantly passed thanks to the warm welcoming of owner and host, Maria José Osorio, who was always helpful, both in answering all of our needs and in sharing her vast knowledge of the area. Our host not only made us feel at home but also gave us a local's perspective which we would have missed at a "regular" hotel. The farm itself is beautiful, the room comfortable and cozy. Situated in Gouveia, Casas do Toural is a great spot for touring the mountain area as well as historical sites. Enjoy!

  Delightful Stay in the little town of Gouveia

  We stayed here for 3 nights as we were attending an event in the area. Maria was very welcoming and was always available for whatever we needed. Maria speaks very good English. She explained the town to us and let us know about all the local restaurants. There is an optional breakfast and as there were some other guests having breakfast she served breakfast in the most delightful breakfast room I have seen. It was a glass house in the middle of the garden. Lovely way to start the day. The hotel was a few minutes walk from all the restaurants. Maria directed us to a great sunset spot where we enjoyed a glass of wine. Just remember you will have to pay cash (there are ATMS in the town) we were aware of this from the booking site. Very clean and comfortable. The garden is a delight. Could be a little hard to find at first, our Tom Tom came in handy and there is some parking outside the hotel. I would love to return here for a few days of relaxation.
