Nice bed, otherwise awfulThe hotel welcomes you with an old fashioned Chinese hotel lobby - all dim light and golden everything. It sets the tone for much of the rest of the stay (I stayed for five nights on business). First the good stuff. The bed was comfortable. I was on the executive floor and there was even a pillow menu (which I didn't use as the pillows were lovely) bed was firm but plenty of give because of a thick mattress topper. The curtains blacked out well. The room was fine if a little plain. It was very clean, has free internet, and plentiful toiletries and water - topped up twice a day. Unfortunately that is all the good stuff. There is double glazing but it doesn't keep out the noise if traffic which grinds on all night. I was on the 25th floor - must be much worse lower down. Luckily I brought earplugs so I could sleep. The food at breakfast was poor - bacon was reconstituted pork, eggs cold. Bread surprisingly good. On four days however your groups flooded breakfast. There wasn't enough seating or food. Nowhere to sit, I camped in one of the banqueting halls (no cutlery). They ran out of coffee, milk, bread, pastries, bacon - it was a shambles and the staff unfortunately were out of their depth. I tried room service one day and ordered nasi goreng. I had to speak to three people to find someone who understood me. The chucked was all fat and gristle and the prawn crackers, mentioned in the menu, did not arrive. On two occasions I needed a taxi and the concierge was nowhere to be found. The pool was empty (cold season I guess) - the gym was adequate. In shirt this is a three star hotel best suited to the Chinese tour groups that frequent it. The staff don't speak english, are poorly trained, and the hotel is simply not managed to meet the needs of anyone who isn't part of a tourist "herd". The Sofitel opposite looks much better. The only thing that saves this from a one star review is the comfy beds and my earplugs!

A good 3 star hotelThis is a good Chinese 3 star hotel, good sized rooms, no smoking rooms, good free wifi. OK breakfast. But it is generally lacking in quality of fit out and service. Nice shower but floods the bathroom every time I use it ,, door does not stay closed and water does not run away quickly enough. Plug in wash hand basin does not stay down. Hilarious situation where the guy delivering room service got locked in my room because something went wrong with the door lock. Room service says club sandwich and burger ... Sadly not available , bar closed before 9 pm. A long way from anywhere in ChongQing unless you are visiting the Olympic stadium. So in summary , happy to stay there if that is where my client has booked me , no way would I stay here if I was visiting ChingQing on holiday

Decent stay on a budgetThe place itself is not bad. It does seem a bit dated, but it is quite comfy: the staff is polite, the rooms/beds are fresh, the breakfast is Chinese (but still okay). I was looking for a gym, and theirs is fine.

3 Stars HotelSo far good for a 3 stars hotel in Chongqing. Breakfast is good with lot of foods variety. Rooms are big. Restaurants and convenience stores are just 5 - 10 mins walk from hotel. Some of the shops open till late or 24hrs.
