  150 Steps to the Beach!

  Caribe Beach Resort was a pleasant surprise. The grounds and especially the pool were beautiful thanks to the hard working maintenance crew. The resort offered free beach bikes that could have used some TLC. The beach was incredible with millions of shells covering the shore. The weather was absolutely perfect with some of the most beautiful sunsets I have ever seen. The only suggestions I have for management is to spray the rooms more often. We were greeted with a roach the first night. Also the beds were on the hard side. All in all a very nice place to visit at a very reasonable price.

  Location, Location, Location

  LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION. This resort sits directly on the gulf side of Sanibel Island. The beach is a short walk from the units and private. The pool was nice and very clean and also a short walk from the units. I will definitely return to the Caribe. The units are primarily efficiencies, but very functional. There is definitely some updating that is needed, but this would not keep me from going back. The staff is VERY accommodating and friendly. The resort provides bikes for guests to use which we used daily to ride through the area trails, go to the store, dine out or go shopping. The store is very close by and there is a large selection of excellent dining venues. I will definitely be back.

  Not impressed.

  The outside was beautifully kept. Swimming pool was gorgeous. But I guess you get what you pay for. I booked this apartment because I found it on the AFVC website and I've always had beautiful condos when I booked with them. This place was extremely tiny. Beds were very uncomfortable and well past needing new mattresses. If two people were in the same room, you had to back into a corner to let them by. There were three of us and I can't imagine having 6 people in the unit. It was clean enough, but very old and dated. The balcony space we had was very nice. Spent a lot of time there when not at the beach. I read numerous good reviews on this place so I was surprised that it was disappointing. I don't think I'll book there again. We actually left two night early because we were in pain from the beds.

  Great location, terrible bedding

  The resort is only steps from the beach but the unit was extremely small and outdated. The murphy bed was old and broken down. The management offered a board and a foam topper for a solution. The mattresses were very old and uncomfortable. The AC dripped water on the kitchen floor and had to be repaired. The grounds are well kept and the management is responsive to needs but I cannot recommend this resort due to the beds. Other guests also complained about the beds.

  LOVE THIS PLACE

  OK, full disclosure, this is a timeshare resort and we own the 3 weeks we use every year. Have been coming here since the mid-1980s. If you are looking for a 5-star resort with beach boys to carry your stuff and bring drinks to the pool, then this place isnt for you. But, if you are looking for old Florida ambiance, incredibly friendly and helpful staff, and beautiful beaches around with awesome shelling, then this is what you want. Yes, the efficiencies have old-style Murphy beds you pull down from the wall and the rooms dont have the most modern amenities around...but we dont stay in our rooms very much and we kind of like the kitchky feel of the resort and our room. There are 1-bedroom units and a couple multiple room cottages but we have been very happy with our place and look forward to coming back every year.
