Norman Bates - where are you?Booked online - seemed a good price for the two nights stay - online photos appeared to show a well kept establishment. Should have been alerted when it was stated absolutley no refunds!! Was going to arrive by car after the office closed (8pm) - could not contact office - directory advised line has been disconnected! Sent email say was going to be late and coukld they respond with room number - leave key in room and i would sort out issues next day. Adviced by email room 2. Arrived at 8:30pm - no lights on anywhere - went to room 2 - asian gentlemen lying on bed - asked to see manager - in broken english advised no manager - never comes there - but I could use room 4 or 6. Ad stated breakfast included. No breakfast menu etc... Next day in daylight saw the whole complex is being gutted. OIffice and restaurant closed and locked. Spoke to another asian gentlemen working on site - again no english but told no manager - asked about breakfast - was given two pieces of bread and sachet of butter and jam - where form - who knows. Picture from Ad were obviously from the 60's or 70's. Furnishings are from the same era and have not been upokept. Old/tired/dirty. Windows arejamed open so -2deg became very cold in room. Ant, silverfish and other creepy crawlies in abundance. Give this place a 1/2 star only because it has a roof and flowing water. Bates Motel, would have been cleaner and more hospitable. Avoid this place at all costs.

Avoid if possible. Book at your own perilHad a booking for 28/9/18. Had already arranged that we would arrive at 6.30 pm. Decided to go into town to get take away for dinner prior to checking in. At 6.14 received a call to say sorry we are renovating and no longer have a booking for you. Advised easy to get another room. I was travelling in a family group so not easy to find another room as if it was a couple. No real felling that the owner cared that it was so late that he cancelled to booking. Property had taken prepayment but now claims not to have the payment. Did a drive past on the way out of town and certainly nothing like the photos very run down in appearance. Book at your own peril

Going to be amazingWas a last minute booking, staff were friendly and great to talk to. They are in the process of renovations so please keep that in mind. Our room was much better then we anticipated, it was very clean and modern and had everything availble. The beds were so comfy and cozy to sleep in. The bathroom was amazing definatley 5 stars there. We cant wait to come back and see this motel once it is finished.

Little beauty - name change - Wurruk MotelWhat a lovely little motel! Undergone major renovations, and what a great result! Has had a name change - the Wurruk Motel. Friendly staff who waited for us to arrive, even after hours. Beautifully renovated room, comfortable bed with fabulous bedding. The bathroom was five stars! Don't expect to see a bathroom like that in a somewhat dated, although renovated, motel. What a wonderful motel for a budget price. Highly recommended!!

Don't even slow down, keep drivingI had heard that this hotel suffered from being outside town so I decided to give them a go. I travel on business frequently so am no novice to motels. Reception area was as hot as hades and smelled of garlic, not in a good way. The asian fellow who was going to book me in was wanting everything but my dogs name. I handed over my credit card and was filling out the usual name, addy, rego number etc but was told I needed to furnish an ID, passport or drivers license. When I said that I had never been asked for those details in any hotel, in any part of Australia I was informed that it was required so they knew who was in house. At this point I had had enough. I doubt the host has any experience in hotels, reception was unpleasant and I chose to walk. Avoid it.
