Overpriced enigmaA great location overlooking the sea and small "beach" area, but the rooms are exceedingly small, and the bathroom even smaller by most standards. Because of this, there is a shower curtain and a floor drain so that half the bathroom area become the shower, but the entire floor area gets wet as the drain slope is not sufficient to drain fast enough. Makes a mess, and for what you are paying, not acceptable. The beds are also not very comfortable. Definitely not a luxury type hotel, which at current prices is what you would expect. Staff are very nice, friendly and helpful. Breakfast buffet is adequate at best. This could also use a "refresh" with more fresh options available to make it something memorable and unique. The management should really take a hard look, evaluate, and invest in upgrading the property to meet expectations for such a special location and opportunity.

Great spot, good serviceGot a room at the last moment and while small, it was nice. The staff was super friendly, and the spot is superb. We enjoyed hanging in the hammock and having breakfast in the garden. A deal of cooperation with the beach would be a great plus.

OverpricedWeve stayed in many hotels in Tuscany and We booked months in advance for this hotel . Disappointingly we were given room without a view , which was our whole point of going there . Due to the chilly lady in reception we accepted this room but it was so obviously the worst (facing road side , first by stairs etc ) and we had paid more than a room was available for that day on booking.com . The highlight was lunch down the steps to the cove where there was the loveliest friendliest waitress and a lovely lunch - but this is not part of the hotel at all . You cant get any food in the hotel other than breakfast . The following morning again we were given a lesser table than another couple who arrived after us and it seemed as if the waiter knew some guests and reserved his charm for them . The waiter also was unimpressed with the fact that Id little Italian . we have found that you just cant know in advance the quality and welcome that you will get in hotels in Italy - it varies so greatly and is not necessarily equal to price . Im not sure wed bother going back there - or if we did , wed probably this time ask to change room or stay elsewhere. But definitely the cove was lovely

Glorious location, but the staff make it specialWe stayed for one night to break up our journey between north Tuscany and Rome. First, let me emphasise, the staff are amazing at the Hotel Capo d'Uomo. From the minute we made our booking to after we had left, they were communicative and did everything they could to accommodate us. First we saved money by having four beds in one room rather than two twin rooms. The staff got in touch with us when they noticed both our kids were under five. The staff went above and beyond the call of duty to help my mother who was unable to make her booking. I accidentally drove off to Rome with my room key. The staff called me 20 minutes later and suggested that if I were too far away they would be happy to accept the key by post (we of course turned the car round). The breakfast was without comparison, the best I had had in Italy this trip with a great selection of charcuterie, fruit and sweets. Sure the rooms are a little dated but why would you want to spend time in your room when the views outside are so incredible. I found the beds to be comfortable and the bathroom was recently renovated. I would recommend insect repellent for the mosquitoes in the early evening.
