  Not worth the money

  Room was out dated and smelled musty, the pillows were very uncomfortable and seemed old. Very basic room, definitely not worth the money as we have paid the same price for nicer hotels. The lobby area looked nice and newer though.

  Perfect location for a Katy Trail overnight stay

  The Capital Plaza is located perfectly for an overnight on the Katy Trail cycling tour. It is the closest hotel to the trail. It offers the convenience of walking only a few blocks to the Missouri capital square and many shops in restaurants in the city's historic district. The rooms were clean and the staff accommodating to cyclists.

  Youll do better at Airbnb

  The complex is old and dated. Restaurant and bar were closed. They checked me into a room on the 9th floor, which does not have a wi-if signal strong enough to load any website. Called the front desk and was informed that hes, they know the wi-if is bad up there. They moved me to the 4 th floor where the signal was OK, but still not up to speeds one would expect today. This place IS NOT for the business traveler. The staff is very friendly and did all they could to accommodate me! Thank you Denise!!

  Would not recommend

  I would not recommend this hotel!! We came in town to spend the weekend with our daughter and son in law and our experience was poor. The room was absolutely not the quality of $200 that we paid for a king suite. Outdated, dingy and dirty decor and furniture, light bulbs burnt out in many of light fixtures and room extremely hot and thermostat wouldnt control temperature. The room was odorous and paint on ceiling cracked and peeling. Coming back from supper that evening the elevators were not working so an employee (dressed unprofessional in street clothes with no identification that he was an employee) took us through service elevator that was through many back halls/doors and through the kitchen and instructed us if we needed to use elevator again to call and someone would instruct us how to get to different location. Im sorry but an extremely poor experience and will not return to this location for future needs!! Do not use this hotel, save your money and use a different hotel!!

  Tired hotel, need a full body off restoration

  We attend a conference each year, and this is the most convenient hotel to use... so we do. Every year the place is a bit more tired and in a little worse shape than the year before. THE GOOD: the staff is always great! Very friendly, helpful, etc. This year the toilet handle broke and the repair man was up in 5 minutes to fix it. The Wi-Fi dipped out in the middle of some work I was doing, and the front desk directed me to a secondary network that was working. A very positive experience with the staff this year! THE BAD: Breakfast in the past has been very average, but this year it was downright awful. Everything tasted very salty. We couldn't eat it. Thankfully they had some cereal out! THE UGLY: peeling wallpaper, rusty/worn fixtures. Bad water pressure, scratched furniture, no where to plug in phone chargers by the beds... heater only, no ability to cool room during heat of day or on higher floor (heat rises). This would be a wonderful hotel if they would do a renovation. It feels like it's being milked until they can't put off a renovation any longer. Awesome location only a couple blocks from the capital.
