  The hotel was a great location, but...

  The staff were friendly and gave us a quiet room upon check in. We were on the 3rd floor, but then were advised that the elevators were not working. We got into our room only to find that the TV, and plug ins, lights, etc. were not working. We called down to the desk and reported this. They assured us that they would look into it. The next day we were gone to Tuktoyaktuk for the day and upon returning to our room we found that we still did not have any power. So another call was made to the front desk. They promised to look after it, so we waited. Finally several hours later the power came on. The room was clean and had complimentary water in the fridge. So, with the elevator not working and the power not working, we were disappointed in our stay. There was no breakfast at the hotel. They did not have a restaurant.

  Best option in Inuvik

  Front desk staff are friendly, helpful. The hotel is clean and comfortable. The kitchenettes are convenient. Downside: The reservation phone in the airport is missing, and I waited 20 minutes for a shuttle that never came. Better to cab it from the airport. But, the shuttle from the hotel to the airport is reliable. Internet is intermittent. It's the Arctic. This in my experience is the best you will get in Inuvik.

  Need to work on Technical stuff

  Stayed at Capital Suites for several days in January. Room was fine and staff quite nice. However the internet is hopeless and the TV intermittent. The equipment in the gym is pretty basic. The shuttle is not really a shuttle. A cab is called by the hotel but when you come in the cabs wont tell you that. Place is ok especially in the far north but they should pull up their socks.

  Ups and downs- A 10 night stay! 4 nights left!

  First, the positives: Super friendly staff, super clean room when I first arrived, super comfortable bed! Kitchen beautiful, albeit missing a few items. The other: Have had to request clean towels, toilet paper, coffee or a room clean several times- often going to the Front Desk to pick up myself. (A little dangerous to write a review mid-stay!) Ive left my Make up room please note on the door two days to no avail....I also leave little notes around the room, such as, Clean kitchen towel, please, or May I have more dish soap, please? When making the reservation, we asked for a room on the North side with a view of the park but it wasnt available. Weve asked if I could move- for a change of scenery- for my last four nights...but we shall see...Again, staff is friendly and answers questions. It took me 10 years to get this far North, and I hate to complain, but its also been embarrassing to have to ask for toilet paper!

  An Oasis

  Having made it up the Dempster to Inuvik & suffered Eagle Plains we were almost dreading the hotel standards/costs in Inuvik. What a pleasant surprise. We didnt have a booking, but still had our choice. We opted for the Capital Suites two room option with kitchen so we could self- cater with food supplies we already had in the car. It was just perfect, exactly what we needed. Respite from the dust & mossies, huge space, great kitchen & utensils, nice sofa & seating area, good bathroom, nice bedroom with comfy bed & good bedding and at a price not too much more than the Eagle Plains very ordinary room. A great place to relax and recharge before tackling the return journey. The motto is if you can brave the Dempster, dont worry about room pricing in Inuvik.
