  Quickie

  Quick in and out...got an apartment in Club Break. This resort is always great. The easy access to the pristine beaches, out of the more busy JBAy but close enough to get there in under 30 minutes. One of the best beaches to walk run early morning or late afternoons. Hiking trail is great, we have had a puffadder experience, so if you hike best have proper shoes...

  Great restaurant by the pool

  We ate lunch at the restaurant and got to make use of the clean and refreshing swimming pool. Seafood was fresh and delicious and other items like burgers and fries were also of a very good quality. We also did the canal cruise with Dave which is recommended to see the extravagant mansions and what life in the canals is like. Dave also provided some nice insights into the history of the canals.

  Avoid Thyme cottafe

  Great location near the main beach, nice safe village feel (if houses perhaps a little too closely clustered) but Thyme is a grim little cottage, with main bedroom saturated by the previous guests cigarette smoke, very poor ventilation, no fans, and a kitchen overwhelmed with damp and black mould, clearly painted over in the past for cosmetic effect. And the DSTV didnt work. All the above reported to reception on morning we moved in. The response was to send a cleaner armed with a surface spray. DSTV not repaired. No offer to switch to alternative accommodation. There is a space for a dishwasher, but no machine. I would go back because of the location, but suggest opt for one of the larger, better quality beach villas with a pool and share with friends. The owner/Resort need to spend some money on Thyme to make it pleasant.

  Fabulous resort,but poor customer service!

  This resort is short of absolutely nothing! Best location, lovely rooms, well serviced and lovely restaurant. We stayed at beach break which has the beat access to the beach. The units are well equipped with clean towels every day. Breakfast was included, and was really delicious! Sadly my trip was ruined by the very poor customer service. I had asked for several days to move to a 5 bedroom unit as my sons had arrived. The unit was available and I was willing to pay the difference. However I received resistance and was told the CEO would have to agree. Lady said she would call me back shortly. Still waiting for the call!!! Almost perfect holiday!

  First holiday in a year and it was fantastic

  I can only say that a stay here was food for the soul! We chose to visit (deliberately) during the week and extend into the weekend as we wanted peace and tranquility - we got the best of both worlds! An almost private beach from Wednesday to Friday and on the weekend got to enjoy live music and a more vibey atmosphere! Our villa: *Sunset* part of the Beach break collection and highly recommended for location. If you prefer privacy/a romantic getaway then the beachside spots are best the units are huge but perfect. Note that the units do not all necessarily have sea views so ask questions about what is best for you. This is a four-bedroom en suite villa with a private plunge pool that is steps from the beach boardwalk. The unit is fully enclosed which was perfect for my two dogs to run around (the garden is huge!) The kitchen is fully equipped with everything one would need for a longer stay and the undercover braai area outside was lovely. The bar area and additional bar fridge were nice to have also. My favorite spot was however up on the rooftop deck with its view of the lighthouse (my husband, of course, loved this as he could see the ocean and plan his fishing for the day!) As a family unit I think it would be ideal - located near the beach so not much traffic (the kids could do their own thing safely) or just simply booking with friends as you each have more than enough space to relax. They had included breakfast in our rate but we chose to self cater fully and do our own thing. Staff: Excellent so friendly from the gardeners to reservations/reception. My booking process here was hassle-free (in fact they were the first to get back to me plus provide all the information I needed - travelling with dogs is not easy and they really make the process simple - THANK YOU!!) Food: We had one dinner at the Full Stop Cafe and the burgers were delicious (the rest of the time we ate at "home") - with a large outside area under roof plus a large garden (kids area) this was the ideal night out - good live music and a lovely ambience. Their covid protocols were excellent, it was nice to see that what they say is what they do. In fact, they seem to bend over backwards to keep guests safe and that was appreciated. The entire resort you could see took this very seriously. Shop/Amenities: They have a small shop stocking the basics plus some beach gear which is very convenient. I didn't get to visit the spa but its on my list for next time! Beach - FIVE STAR. It got a bit busier at the end of each day when people knocked off work and on the weekend but on the midweek days it was me and my dogs with a scattering of surfers at the point. People-free beaches - who needs more! Overall a fantastic break and I would not hesitate to return to Sunset villa - Thank you to everyone at the Resort for making our stay so enjoyable!
