  Great place

  What a great place!! We stayed for 3 nights and loved it! A cosy cottage with all the small things thought of. Lots of wildlife and very relaxing. Lots to see and do in the area, the tree top walk and zip line is fantastic.

  EOY Relaxation

  This place is beautiful. It is exactly what I need after a busy 12 months of work. It was great to have to dogs come also. This house is fully equipped and you dont need to bring anything. It is so peaceful and no one around. Looking out the big windows to the sunrise and sunset. We will be back.

  Tranquility

  We have stayed in both cottages. Great for relaxing and recharging the batteries. Wood fire and Spa bath make it very cosy and relaxing. It has a full small kitchen and even a breadmaker with a packet of bread mix waiting to be cooked. Everywhere you look is bushland. We woke up to kangaroos in the yard and had a koala in the tree out the front. Moonrise cottage has a bird feeder which attracts parrots and rosellas (and the possums at night). Dogs are welcome. There is even a tin of food waiting for your fur baby. We take our fur baby with us and he loves to take a walk along the dirt roads and sniff all the new smells. Such a great getaway.

  What a great getaway!

  Up a windy dirt road to A totally secluded little cottage. This is very dog friendly. There are all the facilities you would expect for 4.5 stars. We also have a large deck with King Parrots in permanent residence.

  Needs some TLC

  We enjoyed our three night long weekend getaway at Moonrise Cottage with our dog Tillie. Access is easy , up an unsealed track, to a lovely secluded cottage. Sharon gave us excellent service from when we booked, to when we arrived.... key in door , heater on, fire set , ready to light. However this cute little cottage is in need of some TLC and a good clean by its owners and desperately needs some updating to bring it up to what people expect these days as well as up to current safety standards. The Nectre woodfire needs maintenance, with the fire door not closing properly and the cord around the glass needing replacement, we had a woodfire for years and know that simple routine maintenance makes them function efficiently and be safe to use. A down light was hanging by a cord over the kitchen area also and all I could think of was , hope this doesnt cause a fire. One PowerPoint in the bathroom had black tape over it , indicating that it wasnt to be used. A resident rat , whom we saw saunter upside down along the veranda , then down a pole to the bird feeder may have taken up residence in between the spa bath and outer wooden lining boards. There was certainly a commotion going on during the wee small hours of the morning that kept us awake and our dog on full alert. There was no signs of mice or mr rat inside by the way , but perhaps this needs to be checked out so the rat or whatever it is does not chew the workings of the spa pump. We totally understand that rats, mice , possums etc are all part of living in the country, we lived in the country for 20 years and loved it. The kitchen was fully equipped, although it was very old and could do with a face lift ( cupboard doors and interiors) but there was everything you needed, from utensils, pots, pans glasses to glad wrap, foil and baking paper. The Oven needed a good clean inside however. The continental breakfast was a lovely surprise too and there was plenty of wood available to use in the woodfire. With a bit of TLC Moonrise Cottage could again become the gem she once was. Not sure Id recommend it though until the electrical things and the fire door are fixed.
