Comfortable hotel for long term stayWhat I liked: 1. This is a great place for a long term stay (2 weeks or more). It is pretty much like booking your own apartment and comes with a full kitchen (i.e. stove, microwave, dishwasher, fridge) and other extras you normally wouldnt find in a hotel such as a washer/dryer combo. The hotel also supplies a coffee machine, kettle, dishware, glasses, wine glasses and cutlery, dishwashing soap, and laundry detergent. If you wanted to cook versus getting take-out this is possible. 2. You have a large separate bedroom with a lot of storage, plus the work area is in the living dining room. Note: I took the smallest suite, there are others with a separate room for a work area 3. The location is in downtown Edmonton on the more residential side versus financial district. So a lot nicer for walking. There are lots of restaurants on Jasper and Burger Priest is literally next door. There is also a supermarket and pharmacy a block away from the hotel. It is also about a 20 30 walks to the Saskatchewan river which has a lot of nice walking paths. 4. The hotel reception are friendly and will try to accommodate your requests. 5. Wireless is free and sufficient to run zoom calls and do other day-to-day office type activities. I had a zoom call with 10 people on video and there were no issues. 6. You can control the heating system. The heater/ac unit in the main room works well. 7. The bathrobe is a nice touch and very soft. A lot of towels are provided which is helpful for washing your hands 40 times a day! 8. Two TVs - one in the living room and the other in the bedroom What could be improved: 1. The base heaters in the bedroom seem to lack heat or air flow. This made the room a bit on the cold side 2. Some kitchen towels had small holes- more on homestay side 3. The work area could use a bit more lighting. While there is a very strong task lamp on the desk I felt without overhead lighting it was a strain on my eyes and I worked during the mornings out of the hotel. 4. There should be a power bar near the desk, since there is only one outlet. I unplugged the extra phone. 5. When I checked in, I found there were extra hand towels left in the dryer. This is something that should be checked by cleaning staff when previous guest checked-out 6. While decorative cover over the comforter on the bed has a nice design, it needed a good washing. Ive seen this before in other hotels where there seems to be gravel or other debris from people putting suitcases on the bed. Other information: 1. During Covid, the front door is locked so you need to buzz in on the intercom. Your room key opens the main door. 2. This is set-up to be more of an apartment for people looking for a home away from home. There isnt a restaurant on site or room service. 3. During Covid, when the room is cleaned the hotel is requesting for physical distancing that you not be in the suite 4. I had an inside room and the view is pretty much peoples rooms on the other side of the hotel. So, I kept the curtains shut. If you are staying longer and appreciate a view, you may want a room facing the street. The benefit of an inner room is it was quiet.

Amazing StayThe stay at Canterra was amazing, the hotel room is very homey and it made me feel at home while I was staying there. It's is very comfortable and not bad. I've stayed at other hotels but Canterra is my number one at the moment.

Excellent serviceExcellent service by super friendly staff and great manager Maria. Great location. Some noise, but understandable in a downtown location. Easy reach to almost all the downtown locations. I will definitely recommend this property.

Family mini escapeA quiet and roomy place to go. Has fill kitchens and separate bedrooms for the kids. Just needs some updating around baseboards and deep cleaning of grout and carpets, furniture. With covid, I would be advertising that they will be steam cleaning floors and furniture so its more appealing to stay. Its not filthy as we would never stay in that, but there is a definite place for improvement.

Jasper Ave. NoisyThe rooms on the Jasper Ave. side are very noisy all night long. Vehicles, sirens, people yelling, etc. I would only stay here again if I had a room on back side of hotel away from Jasper Ave. The rooms themselves are very nice and fairly priced.
