NEVER againI'm quite surprised at some of the positive reviews...and can only assume they've stayed at some truly dreadful places to think this place is anything more than awful. I mean there's budget and then this place. I wouldn't even let my dog stay here, let alone a human. As said in other reviews, if you want to get a sense of what it's like, think 1970s trailor trash American motel. Run down, tired decor, shockingly poor facilities, superficially it looked clean-ish but I wouldn't want a blue light in here. The first room was RANK, smelt of BO and old musty cigarettes. Totally revolting. The reception stinks too, just vile, through and through. The first lady greeting us on arrival was a bit up her own butt then the man swapping our rooms seem decent enough. So pleased I didn't get breakfast included as I wouldn't eat here if someone paid me to. Save your money people. If money is THAT tight you can't afford to pay that little bit more then stay at home or sleep in the car! Not for me....NEVER EVER AGAIN.

Straight from a crime drama!I suppose most of us have seen a drama on the television where there is an attempt to show poverty. The police arrive and ascend a shabby outdoor set of steps to a concrete balcony. They walk along the balcony overlooking an unwelcoming area and knock on the door of a flat. The door opens and inside the whole room is shabby. This could have been filmed in Runcorn Campanile. Single ladies .... its scary reaching the rooms after dark. The staircase depresses you and the rooms are reached by this concrete passageway. Rooms ...hmmm... cardboard cups with sticks as stirred. Light which fails to really get other than dim and ... straight from the 60s ... only 3 sockets. Still whilst the roadworks are taking place you won't find it until you're too tired to care.

Awful hotelHad the misfortune to pick Campanile Runcorn as i thought it would be close to Liverpool airport where I was flying from early the next morning. When I approached the building, I thought I was going to be met by Norman Bates. The decor of the building was reminiscent of that era. Got the key and went to room: what a dump. Looked as if it had never been decorated since it was built. Cigarette burns in the carpet were a reminder of days past. Smoking ban was 13 years ago and the carpet had still not been changed!!! Bathroom was truly disgusting. I felt dirtier after using it. Bath had numerous chips in it and rust was evident on all metal surfaces. Always knew Campanile was basic, but Im sure a prison cell would be more luxurious than this place. MASSIVE REFURB NEEDED This place should be condemned.

Worth a stayWas very clean, staff followed social distancing, wore masks, were very helpful and welcoming. I have stayed here before and always found it a nice hotel, in easy reach of work. I felt very safe and have booked again
