  Clean but needs a refurb

  The hotel is easy to find but we found it needed a refurb, the evening meal was very poor and the staff not helpful. The owner was not there that night which might explain, we planned to stay two nighs but decided to move on after one

  V convenient for Epernay and champagne houses

  Returning visitor off season. Std Campanile so basic but clean. Popular with white van men who disappear early. Our next door neighbours were 3 noisy contractors who turned in early, fortunately. Food ok. Restaurant chilly.Road noise reasonable.

  Very disappointing

  We booked this hotel because it has on-site restaurant, to find that the restaurant is only open Mon to Thur and as we were there on a Sunday it was not possible to have dinner, despite being able to reserve a table on an online App. The receptionist was NO help at all in finding an alternative! and the reception is only open from 4:30 in the afternoon, so we had to wait (which was annoying after a long drive) there is a better looking place just across the roundabout (Le grain d'argent) so stay there instead!

  Provides basic clean overnight accomodation

  We booked this hotel for a overnight stay while travelling from Calias to Marsailles and slept here for the first night of our journey . Located on the outskirts of the town of Champagne ,a little off the beaten track according to our satnav which took us round in circles. We arrived very late at night for this reason but we were definatley on the outskirts of town on what looked like a business Park. On arrival staff at reception were friendly and helpful. Visually this looks like a 50s American motel built on two levels with all rooms facing the reception and carpark Rooms are small ,basic and in need of updating but spotlessly clean and provide all you need for a overnight stay. Comfortable bed and lashings of hot water . This is not a destination hotel just for passing through overnight . Staff very kindly offered us the use of a kettle and disposable mugs so at least we could have a hot drink before bed as we arrived too late for supper ( restaurant closed ) This hotel followed COVID guidelines to the latter and breakfast times for guests were staggered and individual trays with food items given Breakfast variety was good for the price and the staff member co ordinating breakfast was very organised. Overall a very comfortable overnight stay , reasonably priced Would recommend Some of the earlier reviews complain of thin walls and noise - we did not experience any problems

  Fearful and negative

  Lovely staff, always had a bright welcome on our overnight stop offs en route to the south and return.... We have been eating out in French restaurants with usual Covid precautions for weeks but Campanile have closed theirs ...why? Kettle and hygienically sealed paper cups for hot drinks removed from room ....why? Offered a breakfast but if that is possible why not a reduced menu in the evening? Time to look for an alternative hotel group that looks at ways to operate safely but positively in these difficult times.
