  Campanile Annency

  Little hotel in a quiet area, very close to Annecy old city, 10 min. drive. Basic room but comfortable. We stayed 3 nights there and the staff was helpful. There is an old lady there taking care about the arrangement with the dining room, very unfriendly. We wanted to take an apple with us in the end of the breakfast and she stopped us. One apple !!

  Comfortable clean rooms ..parking outside in enclosed grounds ..meals available and breakfasts well worth trying ..staff very friendly and helpful . Easy to find ...easy to get to the centre of Anncey ...lots of helpful guides available in the hotel .

  Not what I expected from Campanile

  This hotel was overpriced for the standard of room. It was small, not well maintained or clean. The overall appearance of the hotel was shabby. Breakfast was also overpriced- the limited array of hot food was not replaced when it ran out. However the evening meal was good value. The best thing about this hotel was the staff. They were friendly, professional and helpful. We have stayed in other Campanile hotels in Frances d Spain and they were vastly superior.

  Could not wait to leave

  At no point in any description I came across did it describe this place correctly - a motel! To call it a hotel is such an exaggeration. My heart sank when I drove in. The rooms on a block across a courtyard where the reception is and the "restaurant". The staff were terrific, the bed was clean, the bathroom was clean but old and showing its age. The carpet looked so manky I did not want to stand on it with bare feet. There were huge cushions on the bed and only when I was sitting on it did I smell them...awful! The stairs and fencing up to the rooms was all peeling and the whole outside was so tatty and in need of serious overhaul. I didn't eat there as the set up was weird and so I can' t comment on the food. The photos on the website look ok but believe me, you can do better in Annecy. It is also worth noting the this place cost us the same as a fantastic 4 star, gorgeous hotel in the same area!! So it was definitely over priced.

  AVOID AT ALL COSTS

  Stayed with wife and hotel is a very basic setup. Upon arrival wife had a shower and water started to slightly flood into the room. I then had a shower about 30 minutes later that's where problems occurred. After my shower water completely flooded our room (I only wish I took a picture). We complained to member of staff at reception Romaine, who was very pleasant and helpful. He looked at the floor and put towels to absorb the water. We then left to go out. We got back and the room stunk of a sewer as water had dried into the carpet, absolutely disgusting is an understatement. Romaine the poor member of staff said we cannot move to another room as they are fully booked during our 2 night stay. It's not our idea of fun walking bare foot on a wet carpet or getting your socks soaked. We had a shower again and the flood from the shower was even worse than day before. Yet again we complained to Romaine and we left for the day. We came back as I forgot my wallet only to find cleaners mopping the carpet and using a drain blockage treatment in the shower hole. We came back in evening and the dreaded smell was unbearable, vomit mixed with a wet dog! Thankfully we were leaving the in the morning. Upon leaving we expected some sort of discount as were completely inconvenienced. Romaine was not working when we left, however the other member of staff wasnt fully briefed on the situation and said to email Romaine. We emailed only to be told we can get 10% of the bill which was £25 which is totally disrespectful!! WHAT A JOKE OF A HOTEL!!! PLEASE STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS!!!!
