A Truly Stunning Place To StayWe arrived at the gates and pressed the button. The gates opened and by the time we drove the short distance up the drive, our host, Margot, was there to greet us with a smile and welcome us. We unloaded the car into the gorgeous Neo Classical styles hallway and were invited to take coffee in the lounge whilst Margot brought us up to speed on the house, the castle and a bit about Dunedin. She booked us into Lanarch Castle for dinner and then showed us up to our room. Our luggage had magically moved upstairs to our amazing room. (Thank you Peter) Margot explained that pre-dinner drink and canapés would be served in the sitting room before she chauffeured us to the castle for dinner and collected us after. The dinner was excellent. Breakfast was made to order and was very good. The Camp estate team looked after us very well; nothing is too much trouble and we cant thank them enough.

Taken care of like familyWe were recently in Dunedin when NZ went from a Level 3 to Level 4 shut down. Within the next 24 hours all nonessential businesses were to shutter. This shut down included Camp Estate. Our flights were not until over 48 hours later. When this annoucement came out, we were immediately asked ot leave the museum we were touring and our 3:00 Albatross Tour was cancelled. We returned to Camp Estate to be greeted by Peter and Margot who assured us that we had a place to stay. Peter had told his superiors that he refused to "put us out on the street." In addition, they also offered to provide all meals we would need. Knowing we had a welcoming and comfortable place to stay, we were able to focus on contacting airlines and confirming that our flights were still in operation. Margot allowed us to do laundry and encouraged us to treat Camp Estate as our temporary home. With all indoor activities closed and tours of any type cancelled, Margot, a native of Dunedin, was a fountain of knowledge about activities we could engage in indepenedently until the day of our flights arrived. What could have been a miserable two days, became a time to get to know Dunedin like a local. She had suggestions for activities from gardens to cultural edifaces to wildlife encounters. We were treated and trusted like family and now have new NZ friends.

Stunning B&B on Castle GroundsWhile trying to find accommodations on the Larnach Castle grounds, we stumbled on the Camp Estate listing and immediately fell in love! It is the newer accommodation on the property and provides (5) ensuite rooms with amazing B&B breakfast included as well as free access to the Castle and gardens. The friendly staff is always ready to assist and makes you feel like you are living in your own secluded summer estate. Located minutes away from Duneden, the location overlooks the city and harbor area with beautiful views from the grounds and on the approaching drive. Highly recommended!

Fabulous place to stayA warm welcome from Peter who showed us to our gorgeous and extremely comfortable room equipped with everything you might need. Peter arranged for us to join other guests for a pre-dinner drink and canapes before he and Margot drove us to the Castle where we enjoyed a delicious meal followed by a guided tour before being picked up a driven the short ride back to the lodge by Peter. We slept really well and started the new day with a sumptuous breakfast of our choosing and cooked by margot, and enjoyed the conversation and company of the other guests. We spent 2 nights here and were sad to leave but received some great tips on where to stop and what we could see on the next leg of our journey from Margot. We were very well looked after by our hosts and would like to express our sincere appreciation to them
