    Amazing place to stay

    This is a small complex of about 11 individual bungalows. Its like a villa rent because you are pretty much left to your own devices, but that's exactly what we were looking for. This is owned by a German family and it's not a hotel or a self-catering arrangement. it's a bungalow - pure and simple. There is an expectation that you will arrive between certain hours because there is no reception or staff on site. The owner will greet you when you arrive and show you to your room - because of our flights we knew we would arrive later in the evening, but we e-mailed the owner our details and she met us at the main gate. Our welcome was very warm and friendly, although the lady didn't speak much English and my German is non existent! Our bungalow was lovely. Large, with two bedrooms and a kitchen/lounge area. The bathroom was a little small - a shower and toilet fitted against the same wall which meant the space for the toilet was really quite limited. The kitchen was good, with a fridge freezer, hob and coffee maker. We didn't have a microwave or oven, which would have been handy, but we managed fine anyway. You can organise bed linen (at a cost) or bring your own. There's also a deposit required to cover any breakages and a deep clean at the end of your stay. If you clean the bungalow yourself, that part of the deposit is refunded. The complex was quiet when we stayed, with only one or two other families. The gardens are pristine and the pool area is clean and well tended. There is a small building which might have been a bar area at one time but it was used as a library when we were there. There's also lots of things in the garden for children to play on, and a BBQ if you want to use it. There were only three or four sunbeds when we stayed, but to be honest, most days we were the only people at the pool. There's a busy railway line at the end of the complex and the trains are quite frequent, but you soon get used to it. The complex is a fair walk from Cambrils proper or Salou, but there are some shops (and a decent supermarket) and a few bards and restaurants at the bottom of quite a long hill. I'd say that car hire would be something to seriously consider, or hire a bike. We just used taxis to take us back. I have to say the welcome we got when we arrived and the friendliness of the family (and the few other guests) was outstanding. Really nice people which made it all a very pleasant place to stay - even if we didn't speak the same language :) It's quite and relaxing - exactly the sort of place to stay if you just want to chill out

    Españoles no vengais aqui!!!

    Estamos alojados en cambrils en bungalows colibri,hemos venido dos parejas y los 4 nos hemos sentido muy incomodos La mujer no tiene el telefono operativo nunca ya que llamas y no coge...de 6 noches, 2 se ha ido la luz y lo del congelador hemos tenido que tirar..le decimos que que pasa con la luz que se va a estropear la comida y nos dice que no es su problema..que es del cableado externo...en vez de decir estoy buscando soluciones su palabra de las vacaciones han sido NO MI PROBLEMA!!! Nos vamos una noche antes ya que no aguantamos mas Habla español???de aquella manera porque te habla en alemán mas que otra cosa... Television por cable?? Sera para los extrangeros se sientan comodos ya que los que somos de aqui no podemos ni ver la tele porque solo hay television en frances o aleman... La verdad que la atencion esta siendo pesima..nos hemos sentimos muy incomodos... Somos los unicos españoles aqui y a los demas de alojados (alemanes,franceses...) el trato no es igual Hoja de reclamaciones?? Que es eso??porque no tiene ...

    bad idea

    I thought I'd booked a lovely holiday for 10 days but reality hit home once I arrived.. I was greeted by someone speaks little or no english or spanish.We walked past the pool area and was very disappointed to see that it was half full and green in colour and dirty the host said it was ok ok for herd of buffalos maybe... but any way I knew then it was gona be bad and im pleased to say I wasnt disappointed.the bungalow was small. Smelled of damp and no hot water in the kitchen area the bathroom was tiny and with the shower and.toilet on the same wall. I would say I have a medium size bottom and even I struggled to relax on there so any fattys out there wanting to use it your out of luck im afraid and if you like ants your in for a treat..theres loads of them but luckily the host gave us a broom to sweep them out. the tv is in all in german so if you dont know german your again out of luck again. the kitchen was ok but no oven just a hob and on that note if you dont have a degree in nasa your out of luck in using it..no instructions.I decided to book else where during the stay but came back on the last day to collect my deposit which was the best part of the stay there.booked at your peril
