  Nice place to stay

  We stayed here because it is close to the motorway and we needed to be at Palermo airport at 8am. The staff are all very enthusiastic, and even got up early to give us breakfast. Didn't use the pool but it looked very nice. It's cool staying somewhere that's surrounded by lemon trees and the views are really good too. The only downside is that it's not really in a town, so it took us a while to find a pizza place nearby. Also the room was odd - there was no door on the bathroom and no TV.

  This place is really nice

  We booked 5 nights at Calajo Resort because the photos looked good on the internet. It was certainly no disappointment. It is a fruit farm with a main house that is used for the restaurant whilst the rooms / chalets are dotted around the large grounds in a very peaceful setting. The view from the breakfast table each morning is quite beautiful. The boss in charge couldn't have been more helpful , along with his staff who look after the pool area, the rooms and the dining area aswell as working the orchards. The rooms are clean and pleasant, the food is good and the swimming pool is excellent. We used Calajo as a base to visit Monreale Cathedral, Erice, Castellemare, Terrasini and the beach at Trappeto.

  A bit disappointing

  We chose this place because it was outside Palermo, yet reasonably close to the airport - we had been in Palermo earlier in the week and on the way back from Syracuse did not want to return in the city. For the purpose this was a good place. However: the photos of this place look much nicer than the real thing. The rooms are ok, the bathrooms are definitely cleaner and nicer than the bedrooms. Breakfast is virtually non-existent - you get jam and crip bread in a plastic plate and coffee. Using the internet is a complicated affair - there's one table in the restaurant where, if you position your laptop at the right angle, you might get connected - provided that, prior to this the owner/manager has authorised you to do so. But then, who needs the internet while in a lemon grove? All in all, I might not stay there again, but would recommend it for people looking for having a more relaxed time, maybe with children or willing to explore the area by bike. One last thing - there's a great view of the sea you get from the lemon gardens.

  Quiet and clean

  My partner and I spent one night at Calajò, having landed to the airport late the same evening. We were received as the day was fading off and were given an apartment with two rooms and a stunning view from a balcony. The room was essential but very clean, the shower room clean and comfortable. We had dinner late in the evening - as the kitchen had already closed - and got two big, tasty dishes of pasta, with a jar of red wine produced in the premises. Breakfast was essential but very good, served in a veranda overlooking the orchards with the sea on the background. We left in the morning but would have stayed longer had the plan allowed it.

  Hi friends! I'm in this place for 2 night. The room in quite big, and pretty new. There are many wrong things though. The bed is very uncomfortable, the cleaning is not good at all! The curtains on the windows are missing, either in the bedroom either in the toilet! Even worst in the bedroom the window blind is broken ! So I had to make a curtain with one of the blanket unless the people passing by the windows would see inside zero privacy! The toilet is very smelly! And the smell is all around the room as well! The air conditioning is not working properly the most of the time. My never come here, for the same price (50,00 euros/night) you can choose something worthy of it! Ciao amici, sono qui per 2 notti. La camera è spaziosa, ed abbastanza nuova, ma ci sono molte cose negative! Il letto è scomodissimo e la pulizia generale lascia a desiderare! Mancano le tende sia nella finestra in bagno che quella in camera, dove anche la persiana rotta, non permette di avere un minimo di privacy, ho dovuto realizzare una tenda di fortuna con un copriletto per avere un minimo di privacy. Il bagno puzza da matti e il cattivo odore si spande anche nella camera da letto! Il climatizzatore non funziona come si deve. Da evitare assolutamente! Per lo stesso prezzo (50,00 euro/notte) potete trovare strutture degne di ospitarvi! Ciao a presto!
