Dissapointed for the priced we paid + Lots of mosquitos!PROS: - Nice & Friendly staff although not all of them could speak good English - Nice terrace/dining area with 24 hrs access - Free tea/coffee + shisha - Central location & around 10mins walk to Metro station - Had a car service (e.g. from/to Airport or anywhere you wanted to go) CONS: - It is a hoStel with big S (NOT a hotel) & expensive - not sure about the price others paid, but when converted to euro we paid 50 euro per night for a couple - this is for a hostel! It was a rip off - Having seen other reviews, it looks like they might be fake, as having travelled to Asia/US & Europe, this was probably one of the poorest places we have stayed in (considering value for money = 50 euro per night) - Entrance is via a small gate (looks dodgy at night) & then through and old, unclear building. Your choices are to get an old lift or walk up to the 5th floor. - Full of mosquitoes, which bite us & didn't let us sleep the first night. We then killed around 30-40 the following day - it wasn't easy with over 3 meters high ceiling. Had to buy a antimosquito spray but it only helped partially. Every night, before going to bed, we had to look for & kill all moquitos (they turned up despite having all windows closed). - Rooms weren't clean: carpet was full of dust as if it has not been cleaned for months!!!, dirty walls (of killed mosquitos) & duvet looked kind of clean, but I doubt they changed it every time (based on the experience on other hotels). - No room service & had to ask for towels - had the same towels for the duration of the stay. - Only cube soap & nothing else so have to buy some shampoo shower gel yourself. - Free breakfast (which somewhat was one of the main reasons for chosing this place over another turned out to be a few rolls with 1 egg, small butter and jam, coffee or tea included) - we only had it the first night, then ate breakfast in town

Big advantages and small disadvantages- It was a good hotel, the room was clean and wide and the price range is very good. - The reservation was including break fast but they didn't commit to give us our breakfast so you should keen to ask about your rights. -The entering building hall is very dark and not clean at all.

Cheap but don't expect to sleep muchIt probably was a nice hotel few years back but lack of maintenance is now a problem. Rooms are noisy. The problem is that there is always either a window or a broken door so you can't close the room properly and therefore noise is here late at night and early morning. Moreover, that same issue makes it cold in the night and I was not given any extra blanket. I was told to use A/C but it was not working well so no hot air. Beds are not that good because matresses bend when you lay down. Wi-Fi and hot water in bathroom working fine. Staff at the reception cannot speak good English so they pretend they understand you but actually they don't so it's hard to have your request done. They are always polite and trying though but when communication is an issue, it's tough! Breakfast is too little and awfully disgusting! Location is fine. Not too far from the center.

I will be back ;)I was searching for a lot of information about hostels in Cairo downtown. This one was best for me in it's price, accommodation and pictures of rooms. At first day it was a little accident- my room was not empty, because some person who lived there didn't check out in time. And the management send me to another hostel of their company (I have another review about it). At first I was very disappointed but today I did the same - overslept a lot and people were waiting for their room )))) From my first minutes in Cairo manager of reception whose name is Tarek was writing to me on What's Up and tried to help with everything. He became to me a real friend! The another manager Shaima was taking me by car from one hostel that I was first night to this one and all the time she was arranging some my little problems or requires. They were washing and lining my clothes several times, clean the room very often and didn't take extra money for that. Breakfast was traditional for such hostels - some baking, cheese and coffee or tea. All the time I had extra coffee for free. Maybe for big man it is too poor breakfast - but for me it was more then enough. My room was one of the best in this hostel - 503, superior with two rooms and huge bed. I felt myself like wife of British officer or Nikole Kidman in the move "Queen if the Desert" really ancient building with good decoration. I will show it on pictures. So, next time when I come to Cairo (and I hope it will be very soon) I will stay only in this Hostel. This is that case when you get much more you pay for. Be kind, polite and gentle and you will see the same attitude from these people who works at Cairo Kingdom Hostel. I already miss you Tarek and Shaima hope to see you soon. I highly recommend this hostel to every budget traveler!
