  Fabulous place and lovely meal!

  We ate at Caer Beris last night and it was the most enjoyable meal out we've had in ages, (and we do eat out quite a lot!) The building is so historic and atmospheric, beautiful wood panelling and traditional furniture, but so clean and tidy and not at all old-fashioned. The food made us think of professional Masterchef,it was so creative and full of new ideas and tastes, yet not at all pretentious, just really skillful cooking with excellent ingredients. What a tragedy that Wales may be facing another full lockdown and Caer Beris and so many other places losing so much trade. We couldn't possibly see how going out for a lovely meal can be considered so dangerous... Good luck and best wishes to all in the Welsh hospitality sector!

  A real gem

  We stayed at Caer Beris 13-16 September as part of a weeks trip to Wales. The hotel was lovely. Recently taken over by Omar and Kim who looked after us and all the guests really well. All the staff were friendly and always made time for a chat. Since they bought the Hotel they have carried out significant refurbishment work and a particular highlight was the conservatory. Builth Wells was a 30 min walk along the river which was lovely. The Elan Valley lakes were 30 mins drive away and are beautiful with fabulous walking. We were very blessed with the weather which enabled us to go out and about all day. In short a lovely Hotel and we wish Omar and Kim all the very best for the future particularly in the current difficult times. A real gem!

  Italian 3 course dinner

  We had already had an extremely nice birthday celebration on Saturday evening and decided to revisit for the 3 course Italian menu last evening. It was absolutely superb from start to finish. Excellent courses to choose from, all wonderful tastes and beautifully presented. Staff as ever were friendly and gave good service. Music was just right and ambience perfect. We shall be going again to try the other menu choices when they re-open after 9th November. Thoroughly recommended.

  Gorgeous place, relaxing, beautiful - great people and great food

  An absolute gem in the beautiful Welsh countryside. If you want to get away from it all and relax, this is the place to go. It is so relaxing and staff could not be more welcoming. Breakfast is fantastic and food in the restaurant is of a very high standard and served in a beautiful panelled dining room. We had a beautiful room complete with four poster and gorgeous views of the grounds and the river. I could not fault this beautiful place and did not want to leave!!

  Fantastic Friendly family run hotel

  Just returned after a fantastic stay here at this friendly family run hotel. Had the best welcome our room was up graded . Staff couldn't do enough for us. The welsh breakfast was delicious. The hotel is set in a beautiful tranquil setting. The hotel has so much character and a very cosy log burner in the lounge area. We highly recommend it and will definitely be returning. Thank you to all for making us so welcome.
