Avoid Bibione at all cost - but once there, you could do worse

If you have the great misfortune of ending up in Bibione, you could do worse that staying in the Hotel Ca'd'Oro. It is an acceptable 3-star with some features of a higher category. We stayed there for 1 night at the end of our road trip to Austrian Alps - pretty much just to be able to say that we both stepped on snow at 2.800 meters above sea level, and bathed in a sea within the space of a week. Big mistake. Bibione is one of the ugliest most unpleasant beachside resorts I have ever seen. Basically a collection of ugly boxy concrete hotels on a crowded and dirty beach. The receptionist was nice and accompanied us to the hotel room. She didn't speak English, though - only Italian and German. We were asked to leave the room at 10:00 am. I've never seen that anywhere else. The room was way too small. At least it was pleasant on the eye, clean and the bed was comfortable enough. The bathroom was good - clean, with good ventilation, acceptable quality cosmetics. Bathrobes were provided. The hotel has its own parking space, partly covered - an important thing in overcrowded Bibione. The breakfast was nothing to write home about. The room was crowded, and the food was poor quality (tasted full of chemicals). The hotel has some small swimming pools. This area is used at night for some cheesy entertainment - a band playing international evergreens on electronic instruments. All in all, the Hotel is poor value for money - way too expensive for what it is and where it is. But inquiring in the adjacent 4-star Bibione Palace and being quoted the price in excess of EUR 300 per night made us shut up.

    Wonderful times!

My daughter and I stayed at Hotel Ca D'Oro last week for 7 days (half board). We were made to feel very welcome by the wonderful owners who spoke very little English but did their best to communicate with us. The hotel is predominantly Italians and Germans but we, in no way, were made to feel like 'The odd ones out'! The rooms are not massive but suit the needs of a beach holiday. The sea is within a stones throw and the town about 3 minutes walk. The food was amazing - you can certainly eat to your hearts content! Dining area very comfortable and certainly worth more than its 3 stars! Our waitress - Anna - was so cute and lovely we wanted to pack her up and take her home with us! Must also give a mention to our always smiling barman - Mauro - fabulous asset to the hotel! Bibione is a clean & thriving holiday town with masses of bars and cafe's to choose from and always some festival or other going on most evenings. We would certainly stay there again and would reccommend this hotel to anyone old or young, families or young couples!

    Fantastic hotel

This hotel is one of the friendliest and nicest hotel I ever been to. The hotel itself is very nice, with a very good restaurant, nice bar, with both indoor/outside seats, and a very nice swimmingpool with a jacuzzi. The location is perfect, close to both the beach and to the lively main street, but still in a very quiet street. We got a nice table in the restaurant that we had throughout our stay. Likewise, on the beach, we had our own reserved sunbeds and umbrella. Ours were in addition in the front row to the sea. But most of all I must thank all the people working there. They all did their best to make our stay as good as possible. If I am comming back to Bibione sometime this hotel will my first choice. Thank you very much for a fantastic stay at Ca´ D´oro.
