The Hotel from Hell and GroupaliaI should have known at the beginning when I first paid and received the confirmation from Groupalia Italia and their respective travel agent Sunrise Travelnet Srl that there were problems. The fact that Sunrise Travelnet failed to reply to any of my emails regarding our booking for the Hotel Business Cafe ,which in turn resorted to re-contacting Groupalia, which in turn meant ringing Sunrise Travelnet 3 times to confirm bookings and preferences for rooms. The offer was for 2 nights in a hotel 1 km from the centre of Naples which included transport to Pompeii, the Royal Palace of Caserta and the Nativity and Christmas markets in the centre of Naples. In view of this I booked 3 double rooms for myself and my family, 2 of which were visitors from overseas as they had never been to Pompeii, and I thought this would be a terrific opportunity to see Pompeii, Caserta and the city. Imagine my dismay to discover that the Business Hotel Cafe is actually situated in Casoria, not Naples, and is not 1km from the centre of Naples but a good 20 minute drive or 2 hours depending on traffic. Also, when we tried to ring the Hotel Business Cafe to make sure that we had one single room and two double room with twin beds (a total of three telephone calls) we arrived to find that our booking was for 1 single and two double beds. An impossible situation for us, and after arguing with the Hotel manager, who explained to us that the hotel was full and couldn't help us, but after I had argued with him for half hour was only resolved in the manager miraculously finding us an extra room for that night only. We also had to fund our own trip to Pompeii as the hotel staff had informed us that either we had to have booked for a whole week or arrive on a different day (according to whomever we spoke to) to take advantage of their offer. In the end we decided we would make our own arrangements. The offer also included a free meal for every 2 people, which we partook on the night we arrived. I have to say it was probably the worst meal I have ever eaten in my 23 years of living in Italy, and eaten the probably the dirtiest dining room I have even seen in Italy. We then retired to our rooms in the evening only to discover that apart from the atrocious traffic noise there was also in progress a disco that continued until 4 am in the morning. The next morning I asked the receptionist if this disco was only a Saturday night affair and she confirmed that it was. Which again we found out to our dismay was a lie, as the Sunday night we had another sleepless night till 4 am. I actually had to get dressed and go down and ask the manager how long would this music last, and he had replied "only an hour or so". It seems that the staff at Business Cafe Hotel have trouble telling any truth about their own establishment. Breakfast, which was also supposed to be included in the offer was another surreal experience. We went up to the same dirty dining room, along with another guest, where it seem there was no staff, and after waiting for half an hour, the other guest went down and asked what to do about breakfast and was informed that it was Sunday, therefore they were closed and we should go to the adjoining bar for our coffee and cake. Finally, much to our joy in knowing that we would be leaving this disgusting establishment, we booked a taxi to take us to the train station the night before, as there was supposedly a train strike (again not true) When we were ready for the taxi the next morning , we found out that they had not in fact booked any taxi, and they then told us that we would need 2 taxi's as we were 5 passengers (it wasn't a problem before) and we were told it would take 2 hours to get to the train station, and charged 30 euros, when in fact in took 15 minutes and the taxi driver had his wife in the second family car as a illegal taxi. All I can say about this experience is that I have never come across hotel staff who blatantly lie, a Travel Agent that had false advertising and Groupalia who didn't seem to care who they were representing or follow up with. I would never recommend using either Groupalia ever again, or any tourist to go to the Business Hotel Cafe, even if as your last resort, and can safely say they had ruined both my and my family's holiday.

Terrible!!Absolutely terrible hotel, staff are completely clueless on how to run a hotel and it shows in the quality of the hotel. Extremely noisy with a disco next door going until 4am in the morning. Rooms are either way too hot or too cold and even though you have a remote for the heater it doesn't actually do anything! Don't stay here unless you want to torture yourself!

Disgusting! We booked a trip to sorrento with TUI. When we were delayed for 27 hours, we were taken to this hotel for the night. The hotel was filthy, the rooms dated, the mattresses absolutely disgusting. The hotel is also in a very dodgy area, we did not feel safe. We were able to complain enough to our TUI rep so that we were taken to an alternative hotel and we didnt have to stay the night. Sleeping on a park bench would be a preferable option to staying here, dont do it!!!!! If you are in any doubt, have a look at the mattress in the photo!
