Excellent budget accommodationsI stayed at Buonanotte & Buongiorno for six nights back in October 2015, and I plan on staying there again the next time I visit Naples. The price is more than right (there are hostels that charge more) and the location (on a hill overlooking the city) is scenic and in walking distance from the Centro Storico. The B&B is a short subway ride away from the train station. Between it and the subway is a gigantic open-air stairway ascending the hill. If you don't feel like walking up, a funicular is nearby and very convenient (unless you arrive after its closes, around 10pm). The rooms are cheery and spacious. Andrea, the owner, prepares pastries and coffee for his guests each morning. He knows everything about Naples and takes great interest in his guests, often suggesting places to visit and eat at. His establishment is very highly recommended.

Great experience, returning guest :)I stayed here five nights earlier this month, but also stayed here for six nights back in May. As you can guess since I've been here twice already, I love staying here! Owner/host Andrea is really great: he is warm and welcoming, and so helpful with advice about where to go, what to do, etc. He bases his advice on your interests and goals of the trip so it's customized for you! During both of my trips here, I ended up seeing things I was not originally planning on (or had never heard of) and had a great time. He also provides breakfast every morning and will keep you company while you eat, giving advice or listening to how the previous day went. Andrea even let me stay in a bigger room with a nicer view for part of my stay since it was available, even though that meant more work for him! Location: I love the location--it is in a quieter area of Naples, but still conveniently located. I am a solo female traveler and always felt safe walking in the area (even after dark). You can walk to the city center and most attractions, but can take the funiculare (before 10pm) if you don't want to walk up the stairs on your way back. If you don't want to walk, it is very convenient to take public transportation. The view of Mt Vesuvius & Naples from the B&B is amazing! Accommodations: I've now stayed in three of the rooms here and all are different but nice. All were clean and had their own bathrooms and balconies. Even the smaller room felt pretty spacious compared to some other rooms I've stayed in in Europe. There is a common kitchen & dining area that you can use, and there is also a place to sit outside (and admire Mt Vesuvius) just down one set of stairs from the B&B.

Like staying with a friendly relativeAndrea, the owner, is wonderful. He had breakfast and coffee for us and the other guests every morning, and would ask us "Okay, what would you like to do today?" then with our ideas he would tell us what in the area is worth seeing, the best way to get the most value out of your time and money, and all the great little secrets of the area. The rooms are nice little bedrooms with adjoining bathrooms, and the common areas are clean and comfortable. It was a little difficult to find the very first time (Take the Funicolare, the cable car type thing), but once you found it the place felt very safe, comfortable, and the roofdeck area had an amazing view. Couldn't imagine a better place to stay in Napoli.

Owner cancelled on us in last minute and was rudeMy boyfriend and I booked this b&b end of January for a two-night stay in mid April. Just 5 days before our arrival we got an email from the owner saying he apparently got he dates wrong and cancelled our one night. As we booked the place so far in advance, it seems strange that only 5 days before he realised he got the dates wrong. He said a big group was staying there so it seems to me a big group contacted him last minute and he decided to cancel our stay to make more money from a big group rather than two people. His alternatives was to offer us a night on a couch, which we didn't want, we wanted to have our own room... He didn't offer us any compensation and didn't offer to just book that one night for us at his own expense. We firstly wanted to still stay that one night that wasn't cancelled there, but the owner was unwilling to knock off half of the deposit that we paid (we paid it for two nights and not one so obviously we paid more) from the remaining balance for one night. He was rude over emails and said we wouldn't pay even one euro less. He only cared about money and him not being at a loss. He didnt care about the fact that we had to book another place last minute for way more money and the fact that we paid deposit for two nights and not one. In the end we got annoyed and just asked for the whole deposit back and decided to book both nights elsewhere. We paid £14.78 but he only gave us £13 back as he transferred via PayPal and we got charged for a transaction in euros. But he should have paid this fee himself and not put it on us, as he was the one who cancelled on us. Would not recommend booking here as the owner only cares about money and doesn't care about people plus he can cancel your stay any minute if he can get more money from a bigger group.
