A little oasis of friendly hospitalityWe booked very late and felt very lucky to find a room! Very glad we did - and dinner was scrumptious, and beautifully presented. A friendly family run hotel with excellent food and a quirky, well kept garden at the rear. A special place for a visit and dinner if you're in the area.

A typical english hotelWonderful food, all homemade ( even the gluten-free bread), beautifully presented... Familial restauran with a personal chef, What woud you want more? The rooms are tidy, sweet and perfect for a few days stay.

DisappointedWe stayed here yesterday. Only one other room being occupied. Our room up on the highest level was cold, radiator not working and the electric shower had water coming out the back of the unit. When we told the owner we were told nothing could be done about it until the next day. No offer to change the room. When we arrived we were given a menu for dinner but then told the Chef would decide our meals. Seems a bit strange to offer you a choice and then take it away. Dinner was nicely presented as full of flavour. Breakfast a little disappointing. I would describe this more as a guest house not a hotel and when presented with the bill to be charged 10% service charge when all we had was served by the owner I feel it is a complete rip off as we did nor receive any service .

Romantic Two nights at Buckingham 's HotelWithin walking distance to the town, plenty of restaurants around the area. However we have booked special dinner for two in the hotel. The steak is juicy and desserts is lovely. The whole experience is well worth it. We stayed at the room on the top with lovely view of the sunset at one side and sun rise at the other window.

EasypeasyNice little place to stop for the night. Just close enough to the town centre with parking and decent b&b. Excellent breakfast, comfortable rooms all enable one to forget that you are in a grey rainy Chesterfield.
