  Stunning in every way!

  When we arrived at the property the lovely Manager, Beatie took us to our room and without hesitation moved us to a room with a bath. The following morning we watched the sun rise over the ocean from our room. The hotel has 360 stunning views, either of the ocean or of the magnificent mountain behind the house. We stayed for 2 nights and rised every morning to a freshly prepared breakfast with flowers from the garden and delicious coffee. It is really well priced for what you get.   Lovely clean guest house but noisy traffic

  The guest house is an impressive property set at the foot of mountains looking over towards the coast. It is situated on the main road that was very noisy, especially in the morning. As the guest house does not have air conditioning the warm night meant that it was essential to leave the windows open, hence the noise. The owner, Beatie was contacted directly for the booking and we explained that we did not want the breakfast as we were meeting friends for a brunch. On arrival Beatie stated that she would speak to her family and later only slightly reduced the R1250 room rate to R1100 as long as we paid cash. The room was comfortable and fairly spacious, the en-suite was very small but adequate with a good shower, but lacked decent soap/shower gel or shampoo. The en-suite room door did not fit very well and even closed had a view directly to the toilet was not very private!! There was no bottles of water in the room, dirty glasses and an empty water jug, neither were there any tissues. The guest house was spotlessly clean, good linen sheets on the bed, white towels etc. The swimming pool was very cloudy and certainly not inviting, but to be fair there had been large fires in the area only 3 weeks previously. We cannot comment on the breakfast as we did not partake. Overall a comfortable guest house and charming host.

  Utterly Fantastic!

  We stayed in Betty's Bay at Bucaco Sud in February 2019 as part of a tour around the Western Cape. Run by Beatie, with great help from the fabulous Jean, this place is an absolute gem. It's away from the main road, set in a lovely garden and with the mountains as the backdrop on one side and the ocean on the other. The staff here are AMAZING. You feel as though there's nothing that they wouldn't do for you, and yet the whole vibe is relaxed and distinctly Provencale. Breakfasts are ample, fresh and beautifully presented. And any restaurant bookings you might want will be handled for you - if you have no idea at all where to go, you will receive absolutely spot-on advice. Rooms are relatively simple but extremely comfortable, with excellent linens and superb mattresses. Yes, it make a difference. We've been fortunate enough to stay in many places, from the most luxurious to the simplest and best. I would have absolutely no problem in recommending Bocaco Sud to anyone who wanted to add it to their itinerary - it's simply magical!

  Nice and cozy bed and breakfast

  Nice and cosy bed and breakfast, well located. Beatie the landlady is very welcoming and knows how to make you confortable. Cosy rooms with attention given to the little details like flowers on the bed and on the sidetable. Beatie even made me some delicious breakfast earlier than usual.

  Home from home

  Elevated on the hillside, hidden in a beautiful garden, the Bucaco Sud Guesthouse is a great place to stay and explore the white-sand, miles long stunning beaches of Bettys Bay. Rooms are cozy and fitted with everything one needs, including tea/coffee facilities. Bath and shower is rather small. There is a lovely large sitting area upstairs overlooking the ocean. And a pool behind the house to refresh after a sunny day at the beach. Soul of the house is Beatie, well known in Bettys Bay. She has the practical charme of an Afrikaaner-lady who knows how to take care. Be it her homemade breakfast (Eat, there is plenty!) or suggestions where to go for dinner and where not, a supply of beachtowels or a chat over a cigarette outside. The area where the guesthouse stands was spared by the immense fires only weeks ago - the wind turned around only 250m away. Its a place with a great view and every effort to make you feel home from home!
