  Christmas package

  Had a wonderful Christmas at the Bryn Howel, and have to thank Lorraine and her staff for making our break so special. The food is always top class here and the Christmas Lunch was exceptional. The staff were very friendly, helpful and hard working especially over the holidays when they could have been home with their families. So again big thanks to them. The stocking with little gifts on Christmas morning was a nice thought and showed a touch of class. All in all we had a marvellous time and look forward to going again.

  Christmas stay

  Had a lovely 2 day break with our border terrier. Office staff welcoming, food excellent waiting staff very good. Hotel clean, new owner in process of updating so price reflected this. Stocking on Christmas morning a lovely idea and the tin of biscuits with Christmas card on the breakfast table very good. Only one thing salad would have been an added bonus to the buffet Xmas night. We will visit again!

  Romantic weekend

  Outstanding hotel with lovely views friendly staff comfortable clean rooms food excellent and reasonable bar prices will definitely be visiting again. Out and about llangollen is just 2 miles away....

  Return visit

  Relaxing stay , we had booked a dinner bed and breakfast with two friends Great value for money but the only negative comment is that it was unclear wether our break was for two or three courses at dinner. Nice comfy rooms that looked as if they had been recently refurbished

  New Year Package stay

  We had a great time staying here for 2 nights over New Year, it's a lovely old hotel, with the caviat that it has seen better days in some respects, however the current owners have only had it since 2017 and are in the process of updating and renovating, so if you are looking for the grandeur of a 4 star hotel, they are not there yet, but I am sure they have every chance of getting there as they have several pluses - very friendly and attentive staff, most of whom are quite young and maybe still learning, but they work hard and are fun; a great chef, producing really good food; decent sized rooms with very comfy beds; a wonderful location with superb views over the canal and hills beyond; and very competitive rates! A great base for those who like to walk, with the village of Llangollen just under 3 miles away and it's a lovely walk along the toe-path. We were all taken by the overall friendliness of the staff and the other guests there for the festivities and had a really good time, culminating with all the guests and staff singing in the New Year together - a nice touch for them to join us and indicative of the overall warm atmosphere. Well worth a try if you want to dip into Wales, they will welcome you!
