  management issue

  Generally good hotel, but everything was ruined by a rude female owner. Despite requested a baby cot (I even received her written confirmation, that this will be provided) she told me that she didn't know that we are coming with a kid (2 year old, btw). When I told her, that I even got her confirmation, she said ''that's impossible'' because ''I don't read guest's comments on booking.com or anything like that''. Wow (I thought) what a lack of respect. But it came only worse. She said If I want a baby cot I should have called her or book triple room. When I tried to tell her, that I dont need 3 beds since the baby is small and in their T&C is written that baby up to ceirtain age (definitelly more than 2 years) can stay in the cot with 10 euro extra charge (which I had no problem with), she screamed on me ''youre not right! end of discussion!'' Wow! I don't remember anyone talking to me like that, not mentioned someone who supposed to be nice to me. The story ended up with handling me a more expensive room, since the one I booked was apparently to small for a cot, Despite above, I have to mention, that rest of the staff was very nice to us and the hotel overall is ok and the location is very central (that's why I desided to give 2 stars instead of 1 despite the check-in incident).

  Bamberg visit

  Great small restaurant historic hotel right on the river in historic Bamberg. Good food in the restaurant downstairs and the staff was very helpful. You can walk out of your hotel and are standing in the center of the old town. We took the Regional train from Munich and taxied downtown. Would definitely stay there again.

  Full of promise but doesn't deliver

  Very disappointed not to see (or hear) the river, my main reason for choosing this hotel. Some rooms are next to the advertised building making a dark entry at night and a very steep staircase difficult to manoeuver with suitcase. Wifi does not work in these rooms. No radio or jug to boil water. No facewasher provided. No cover on bedding. Excellent breakfast and breakfast staff but manager was not congenial or helpful as others have also stated. No information given about hotel amenities or the mysterious fitness room. Don't arrive on a Sunday - restaurant is busy and a child will take you to the room. Difficult to stay here if you are not a German speaker. Great location though, so go with moderate expectations.

  Poor service. Ok food.

  We waited and waited to be served in the restaurant. We were totally ignored. We eventually moved into a different section where we were served. The food was ok once it arrived. Standard German fare. If you are working in a tourist town one would expect you liked tourists!

  Overpriced

  Arrived for one night visit to see art with a friend. We were expecting more from the trip advisor reviews we had used to chose the hotel. It turns out is a tired old building, hallways, carpets ---very 3 star room and 3 star place, and so 95 euros for a single was severely overpriced. I would not return.
