Groupon presentLet start with positive grounds are beautiful . Negative if your on a Groupon voucher don't bother we have just come back from Brownslow hotel after it being cancelled due to coronavirus and hotel just opened on Tuesday we were treated like second class citizens the minute we checked in room was musty ( not their fault I guess ) but toilet was broken room was nothing like photos (room 21 ) we asked if we could be moved as obviously toilet was blocked and was moved to room 19 which was ok .The food was nice ( evening meal ) but waiter told us in loud voice we had to sit on certain table and only allowed certain meals on our voucher but if wanted different we had to pay ( not a problem for us ) but would if been nicer if whole restaurant didn't have to hear him , asked if we could have tea/ coffee in room was told NO you have to purchase it and drink in bar none were free in rooms ? Breakfast was warm and ok but we was told again where to sit and was seated on a table with no table cloth or nice cutlery and was given a small menu as we was not allowed Juice , or croissants as not in the deal .Other guests had lovely table with alot more food / choice when asked if we could have toast we was given one piece between two of us with no butter ( didn't like to ask again for more as totally embarrassed )in keep asking for stuff . Our Daughter paid £200 for our trip but to be honest we wit go there again on a Groupon voucher as they treat you like your the poor relatives . We spoke to two ladies who came day it reopened and said they were treated ok first day but felt like us if your not a full paying guest of theirs you were treated differently . As a paediatric nurse who worked throughout the virus looking forward to this trip I would of preferred to stay in a hotel where your treated as a valued guest not like a person who was lucky to be there . Coronavirus effected us all you would of thought they would love to have customers again .DONT GO IF YOUR ON GROUPON VOUCHER

Afternoon TeaHad a 2019 Christmas Gift Voucher with intention to use during summer months?? Visited on Sunday 6th September. Average afternoon tea, we have enjoyed better at other hotels. Was also not impressed by the fact that our vouchers been purchased at full price when a discounted price was being advertised for this month. Cannot genuinely recommend tea at the hotel. Staff were friendly but did it compensate for disappointment of tea quality.

Great restaurant and grounds, the rest was not so good.We stayed one evening here. The hotel itself and grounds are excellent. The restaurant for our evening meal as also excellent. However, the room itself was a complete let down. There were stains all over the walls, dust was accumulating on some surfaces. There was mould on the windows. By the far the worst item was the bathroom. This had clearly not been cleaned, there were stains all over the walls, cracked tiles, what appeared to be pubic human hair in the bath and on the floor (pictures attached). In covid times it is imperative that cleaning is thorough. Also the breakfast delivered to our room in the morning was poor, we cant believe it came from the same kitchen that the excellent evening meal came from. We complained on checkout and our details were taken so further investigation could happen and reported back to us. 3 weeks later, nothing! To finish off on a positive note. The employee that served us all evening was a credit to the hotel.

Quiet setting, large rooms and helpful staffThis hotel was a delight to stay at. The rooms were spacious, the staff were extremely helpful and the grounds were peaceful and pretty. The position is close to major shops, yet you feel as though you are miles away in the country! I opted to stay in the stables, which although older décor, were spotlessly clean. I will definitely return for another stay soon.
