Perfect place to reconnect with natureStayed 3 nights in a cabin. We bought our own supplies and self catered, realising we were quite a distance from a shopping centre. Location was perfect way to escape the city rat race. Located on the banks of Broken River, we saw many platypus at dusk. Lots of bush walks close by. Loved the peace and tranquility of the resort. Grounds neat, tidy and very well maintained. The lady in reception was very friendly and helpful. The cabins were very clean, with a balcony and a fire place for the winter. The cabins are a bit dated and need a revamp. But dont let that put you off. This is the place to stay if visiting Eungella National Park.

Peaceful area and excellent location!Stayed two nights in a Queen Room which had a kitchenette. Sigrid greeted us on arrival and showed us to our room. The patio looked out to the bush and each morning we were woken by the birds singing in the trees. Our bed was very comfortable and room was well equipped. It was just a short walk across the bridge to the Platypus viewing areas.

A tranquil retreatA very relaxing resort just outside the National park. Easy walk to at least three platypus viewing areas as well as being surrounded by trees than resound to the sounds of happy birds. The cabins are clean and well presented; some have cooking facilities. There are several cabin designs so choose the one that suits you. This visit, the restaurant was only open for 2 nights but the kitchen prepares meals that are delivered to your cabin on the other nights. prior choice of meals is required. The meals were excellent (cooked by Joe). The whole steamed baby barramundi in spring onions and ginger is still available and is a high-light of the menu. We were fortunate that the "soup of the day" was a Northern Chinese version of Hot and sour soup (a favourite of mine). The menu includes standard favourites as well as a selection of less usual Chinese dishes (The name may be the same as the corner Chinese restaurant but the flavours are not - they are exquisite! Limited wine choice but not hard to find one suitable for your palate. Heading back next year! Covid precautions are taken seriously!! Staff very friendly and helpful.

Rustic charmIf you are looking for a luxury getaway, then this is not the place to go however, if you are going to get back to nature, hike and see platypus playing, then this is definitely the place. The room/cabin was comfortable but quite dated, the grounds were well kept and particularly lovely our first night as the fog/clouds rolled in and left the area feeling quite mystical. Spotting platypus in the river was quite easy and I think possible to do most days during the correct times. There are many hikes that can be done in the area, but not many shops, so bring food with you. Although there is a restaurant which we went to one night. The food was lovely and the restaurant was an experience. Great staff.
