  Beautiful heritage bungalow

  After much research searching for a colonial era bungalow that suited a family of 5 we chose Brokenhurst It is a beautifully maintained home with with beautiful and warm hearted staff who made you feel welcomed We decided to have breakfast and dinner there and it was a good choice the meals were delicious and presented well and our kids loved the food but we had to pay cash as there were no credit card facilities to pay so please be mindful when booking as I do suggest having a meal there - a bit on the expensive side but worth it and also the convenience of enjoying a meal in. They also have a private driver facility too and our driver commented that the staff were really lovely people The stay was memorable and comfortable If you are looking for a place of colonial ambiance in Nuwara please really look at Brokenhurst

  A great place for a family holiday

  One of the best places we have stayed in our family trips.All amenities met our expectations and the food made by Lakshman was tasty and covered all the ticks.Duminda was a great at his job in meeating all our needs and was ever present to serve us without any complaints. The town was close by but the placing of the bungalow gave us the privacy we wanted and the old colonial planters charm we were looking for. We recommend this place for any large families or single travellers. Kudos to the brockenhurst team. They have done a great job in making this a memorable holiday for us. Thank you.

  Exceeded Expectations

  Gorgeously landscaped gardens, attentive staff, and excellent cook. The rooms were spotless and well-appointed, as were the bathrooms. Unlike other properties we visited, breakfast was not included, but there was an option to purchase it. We dined at the property twice for dinner, $12 USD/pp for a Sri Lankan meal, $18 for BBQ. Both were good, but we prefered the Sri Lankan rice & curry meal. It was very handy to have access to a washing machine, Waruna (our caretaker), dashed out to grab us washing powder on our arrival and helped us on a load. Very thoughtful! Stanley and the staff also let us use their kitchen to mix cocktails. They were very patient with us! Absolutely lovely to sit out on the front lawn overlooking Nuwara Eliya and the hills, sipping on a gin and tonic. The front parlour is also a perfect spot for board games and aperitifs. A great base for tea plantation exploration. Thanks to the whole team.

  Class and Elegance - Great place for a family holiday

  Beautifully appointed heritage bungalow, great vibes, staff are very friendly and food is the best we had in Nuwara Eliya. We stayed with our kids and extended family , relaxing and well looked after. Architecture and interior of the building is gorgeous..

  Beautiful bungalow, highly recommend

  We stayed here for 3 nights. The bungalow is very comfortable and spacious. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The breakfast was sumptuous with a huge selection. We had dinner on the first night, which was delicious and very well presented and prepared. The bungalow is very convenient for the town, a pleasant 10 minute stroll down a gradual hill. Highly recommend this lovely place to stay in Nuwara Eliya.
